We came across the hotel by chance, as many in the centre were booked up owing the to the Leipzig Book Fair. We were very pleased we did because it was the best hotel we stayed in, from all points of view, during our 3-week holiday in Germany, particularly because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially Frau Pohlmann. They even produced a daily bulletin for guests, detailing helpful information such as events, things to see, weather forecast, etc. We were given a very nice quiet room at the back of the hotel and a complimentary bottle of sparkling water on arrival. The hotel was very conveniently placed near to the tram stop so it was convenient for getting into the centre, and there were bakeries and a supermarket nearby. We cannot recommend the hotel enough. These people know what they are doing and do it very well. (Breakfast is provided but we didn't try this.)

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking courtyard at back are probably quieter but we did not try the rooms at the front

Hotel Berlin was really a pleasure.

Very warm and personal welcome.

As we were travelling as cycle tourists, it was very pleasant to ask about availability by phone.

We were able to store the bikes safely in the hotel's own courtyard.

The room and hotel itself were really spotlessly clean.

But what blew us away most was the breakfast. Great selection, superbly arranged and everything of high quality (regional products).

The tram connection to the city centre is also great. 13 minutes on line 4 from almost right outside the 'front door'.

So, definitely and gladly again.

Everything was OK. Breakfast was OK. The rooms facing the street were a bit affected by traffic noise, but with the windows closed it was barely audible.

Leipzig city center is easy to reach and public transportation is very close by. I would happily stay there again.

We have been guests several times and have never been disappointed. The hotel is small and cozy, the staff is great. Whether by phone, at reception or at breakfast, you feel welcome. Great breakfast, everything you need to start the day is always available and is replenished. Keep it up! We are happy to come back again and again.

Very good value for money, just a few S-Bahn stops from the city center.
The hotel offers everything you need for a short stay in Leipzig. A few meters away there is a Rewe supermarket for everything you need.

We stayed here for one night in May 2015 to explore Leipzig. The hotel was very easy to find by car, and is located in a quiet but interesting neighbourhood in the east of the city. The tram lines were excellent even on a holiday, and the hotel is between two stops. There is free parking on the road outside the hotel, and a couple of cafes and a supermarket nearby. Hotel staff were very friendly and offered us advice on where to go, how to get there etc. Our room was pleasant, clean, and spacious. Very much like most hotel rooms in Germany in terms of decoration. The door opening mechanism is a little complicated, so they show you how to do it at reception. Sleep quality was very good. Free WIFI was good. Overall, we would stay again.

The location is OK - if you driving into Leipzig you can get to it without passing through the centre. As some of the German-language reviews say there is no parking lot, but the bit of sidestreet just outside was free and our car was OK there.
The strassenbahn takes you to Augustusplatz in just a few minutes and is pretty frequent.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is excellent.

The room was clean and tidy, but overcrowded and with furniture and fittings rather worn - but for the (very low) price it was fine! The lack of airconditioning could be a problem in high summer, the nights we were there we were cool enough with the fan supplied.

There was a charge for Internet connection, which I tend to bridle at - but is was only 3 Euros.

We stayed here for 3 nights, while in Leipzig for the WGT festival. The room was small, but clean with ensuite.

The cooked breakfast options were excellent and catered well to western tastes! (unlike some places in Germany).

The staff were friendly and there was a lift which helped with the heavy bags.

The location wasn't bad - about 8 mins on the tram to Augustusplatz - but we didn't try walking - we thought it might be a bit far.

In August 2022 I stayed for the eighth time in this wonderful hotel, a small pearl in Leipzig. Family-run (no chain), it offers you a very warm welcome, large rooms with equally large bathrooms, high-quality beds, a very nice inner-yard garden where you can spend the evening and enjoy a good beer from Saxony, a very solid breakfast. It is a home away from home with very friendly and helpful personnel at your disposition.
Perfectly situated near city-center Leipzig (about 1,5-2 km to walk to Augustusplatz), but just far away enough to offer you free parking (always available) directly outside the hotel. Tram stops for two lines (4, 15) are in the vicinity, both go to the center and main station. Supermarkets close by and also restaurants as well as kebab or burger snacks.
Couldn't be better! Looking forward to staying there again for the New Year.
