Leipzig is greener: In addition to numerous parks and wooded streets, the city is criss-crossed by one of the largest floodplain forests in Central Europe. And in the middle of all this is our Seminaris Hotel Leipzig. In the beautiful district of Leutzsch, where nature meets beautiful villas and industrial charm. Industrial companies used to produce transformers and lighting technology here - small memories of this time can be found throughout the hotel. And at the same time you can shape your future with us - in meetings according to the New Work concept. You discuss, think and develop ideas in a team. It will inspire and stimulate you to change yourself and your work in the best possible way. In our seven meeting and conference rooms you will find the space you need for this. And of course you can relax after work in one of our beautiful rooms, in the sauna or with a good drink at the bar. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Detailed Reviews
This very sad hotel stuck in the 90’s was very disappointing . The hotel staff were friendly, but one couldn’t tell the staff from guests apart, because they didn’t wear a uniform or have name badges on. The room was very dark. Dark old rug, very dark wooden closets that were way to large for the room. That dark furniture had seen better days and the bed wasn’t comfortable. The bathroom a nightmare. The shower was old and dingy, black spots of mold between the grout. The soap dispenser was over 1 meter away from the sink. Very nerve racking. The breakfast buffet was somewhat disappointing. There was almost everything available, but the long lines at the 1 coffee maker wasn’t an ideal situation. After 1 week , I was happy to leave.

Good location on the bike trail in Leipzig . Really impressive lobby and restaurant . Reception friendly . Room large and nice and clean with comfortable bed . Bathroom clean and bright . Good secure inside bike storage . Very good breakfast with many food choices .
On-site restaurant had a very limited menu and our service left a bit to be desired. It appears that they were short on serving staff and it showed.

Spent 3 nights here while attending a family wedding. A comfortable room. We ate the buffet the first night which was extremely unimpressive. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice for both hot and cold food. It was a shame hot dog type sausages were the only choice on the third morning, we had both enjoyed the more traditional style of sausage offered on the previous two mornings. My main complaint is that neither the restaurant nor the bar opened on the Sunday. I do not understand why a hotel bar in particular would be closed to guests. A great shame as there were a lot of positives.

Leipzig is a smallish city - that becomes very apparent when there are one or more major conferences in town. Booking a hotel becaomes a sheer nightmare. I came to Leipzig for a conference and even 2-3 months before the meeting, I found all the central hotels fully booked. The only one left available from the list of conference approved hotels was the Lindner. It wasn't cheap - about 120 Euros per night for a 'suite'. I figured at that price, it can't be bad - plus the pictures available on the Internet showed it to look quite nice. So I gave it a try ...
I have travelled extensively worldwide and written more than a few hotel reviews. I'm usually quite generous with those reviews - and I consider myself quite generous still giving the Lindner 2 stars ! To cut a LOOONG story short, I was quite disappointed with almost every aspect of my stay given the price I had to pay.
Before we list the bad points, let's see what was OK:
- the rooms were reasonably clean and spacious
- the hotel felt new and well-maintained in general
- the breakfast (included) was OK
- ... and that's about it
The bad points ?
- it is situated well away from city centre: a taxi ride costs 10-15 Euros each way
- the "free shuttle bus" simply does NOT EXIST: when I asked, I was simply told 'no' ... no explainations, no apologies
- on my first day, it was raining. the cool reception staff gave only vague directions to the nearest bus stop and didn't even offer to lend me an umbrella
- I booked a SUITE for 120 Euros per night and was given only a 'first class' room (hardly larger than a standard room) ... again no explaination, no apology, no refund - the staff even implied I should be thankful just to get a room at all !
- the website said the hotel was air-conditioned ... it it was, nobody bothered to turn it on ! my room was hot and stuffy, and simply too warm to sleep in at night (this was in September)
- the bed was woefully soft: I ended up with a stiff back after just 2 nights
- there is no bath even in the 'first class' room ... only a tight shower
- there was WLAN internet service (NOT free) but reception in most areas in the room was terrible: only 'low' signal at best in bed, NO signal at all at the desk !
- the front desk staff were some of the coolest, unfriendliest people I have met in all of Europe (and I have lived in Europe for over 7 years) ... maybe this is a relic of old East German hospitality ??
- someone to carry your bags or show you to your room? forget it - no help at all
I know what you are thinking: if this hotel was so bad, why didn't I just leave ? Unfortunately, I made the amateur mistake of pre-paying on the Internet (based on the seemingly excellent portrayel of this hotel on the Internet). And besides, as I said, no other hotel was available in town. Maybe there will be some people who enjoyed their stays at this hotel - and congrats to them. But my experience was awful, and I stand by my gripes above.
You'll realize that of course, I would never stay here again, let alone recommend this place to a friend. In fact, given the troubles I had with accommodation, I would seriously think twice about ever attending a conference in Leipzig again.

+1
Arriving at the hotel, I was amazed at the beautiful reception and well-outfitted bar. The employees at the front desk were warm and cheerful, and I was admitted to my room without issue. The room is what you'd expect for the price: clean, with a respectable and well-outfitted bathroom. There were no handouts, which in my opinion is a good thing because I always bring my own. The TV screen was unexpectedly huge, but I didn't use it.
What must absolutely be said is that the hospitality at the bar and restaurant are impeccable. We had dinner there on the first night, and it was amazing. They served a pork knuckle with a sort of potato tortilla and sauerkraut, and it was the best thing I've had in a good long while, easily above some Michelin star-meals I've had. It's also very cheap in comparison. The only negative feedback I have is concerning the drinks list - it needs expanding.
The location is just outside Leipzig, which is fine - a cab ride puts you at about ten euros which takes ten minutes.

This hotel is located near a quiet residential area which is perhaps good if you need some peace and quiet but I didn’t like it because there were no shops, cafes, restaurants or any sort of entertainment within walking distance. So basically you have to drive if you need anything. On the plus side there are many free parking space around the residential area near the hotel.
The room was clean and comfortable enough but they didn’t even provide a water boiler or any free tea/coffee. I only found out later that you need to book a much more expensive room if you wanted those facilities. I find that kind of unacceptable as this is a 4 star hotel and those are very basic facilities. It was autumn but somehow the room was really hot even though the heating was off. There was no temperature controller in the room. At night it gets colder but the blankets provided are winter blankets so it’s hot if you use the blanket and cold if you don’t use it. They have free internet connection in the room which is of average quality.
If I have anything to recommend it would be the breakfast area and food selection. They have a large breakfast area which is good as during the times I was there it was always kind of packed. There is also a nice seating area outside if you prefer to seat outside. The food variety is really good and they have many healthy choices.
Staff are friendly and also this hotel is environmentally friendly so if you don’t choose to clean your room you get a little gift (for me it was a pack of gummi bears).
Overall for the price and for a short stay it was okay, but nothing special for me. I would give 3.5 stars out of 5 if there was that option.

We had a nice stay in this hotel. It is a short trip to city via the number 7 tram.
The room was good and mostly clean except the cleaning people failed to remove the dirty dishes for some reason.
The thing that upset me was the incredibly rude woman working in the restaurant in the morning. On 2 occasions I was very hurt by her attitude to me and her abruptness.
Based on this I would not consider this hotel if you are expecting to be treated as a guest in the hotel you have paid good money for as I did.

The Lindner Hotel in Leipzig has it's ups and downs. The location being the most noticeable downside, and the elegance and comfort being the upside. The hotel is comprised of 3 buildings, connected through a very pompous lobby entrance, a bar and restaurant (with a somewhat thin menu). A small wellness area is also present, with sauna and steam bath.
POSITIVE ASPECTS
The rooms are warm, comfortable and elegantly furbished, all of them having a garden view. The bathrooms are small but still manage to include a bathtub and all the basic amenities. A Rewe supermarket is located around the corner, with regular opening hours.
NEGATIVE ASPECTS
Reaching the hotel can be a task. There is a drop-off zone in front of the entrance, but parking spaces in the area are very limited. The hotel has a private, but pricy, garage. Arriving by public transport is not easier - the nearest tram stop is a good 20 minute walk from the hotel. The surroundings may be peaceful, but the street in front of the hotel is busy around the clock, so don't expect a good night's sleep with the windows open.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The nearest tram stop is called 'Rathaus Leutzsch' and is served by tram line 7, running to and from Leipzig central station daily until midnight. The tram stop is however quite a walk from the hotel.
IN CONCLUSION
This hotel is suited for guests who enjoy a touch of elegance at a fair price. The easiest way to reach the hotel is by taxi - or car if you're willing to pay extra. It does not have any large conference halls, but is nonetheless a good business hotel. Large tourist groups are also welcome, though limited by only 1 parking spot for buses. Visitors of the Leipzig Arena and Stadium will enjoy the proximity of the hotel.

This hotel was a great value for the price. For 65 or 75 Euro (can't remember exactly) a night including breakfast, we figured it would be alright, but we were quite pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and polite and multilingual. Our room was comfortable and more than adequate. The breakfast was great- what a spread!
It was a little bit out of the downtown, but not too far from a street-car line. I imagine a taxi wouldn't be too terribly expensive either.
We loved Leipzig too- great restaurants, great stores, lots to see! We hope to go back there, and if we do, we will stay in this hotel again.

This hotel is outside of the city centre in a fairly quiet suburb. Unlike other reviewers, we didn't use taxis, but rather the excellent tram system to get around, which was good & cheap. The area is quiet, lots of parks and sporting facilities. The hotel is nice, the staff were lovely, rooms clean and spacious. We ate in once, the restaurant was good, but not very much veggie stuff on the menu (a problem widespread accross continental Europe). There is a small fitness centre and sauna, which was good.
