Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The parking garage is also good for larger cars. The rooms are nice and big, furnished in a somewhat old-fashioned way with a fairly small TV. There is only a shower in the bathtub. The fact that room cleaning has to be ordered daily is not very customer-friendly. The breakfast is OK. Since the hotel is often used for seminar and conference participants, it is sometimes annoying.

... but a very good breakfast and nice, competent staff even it out a bit. Probably the hotel was built in the nineties, the shower in the bathtub and the format of the tiles at least speak for it. Here it would be time to update the rooms. Somewhat got used to was the fact that the cleaning has to be registered separately - in return you can get a voucher for the saved cleaning for the bar
The location is not quite central, but the city center is within walking distance. If you search a bit, you get an overnight stay with a good value for money.

This is a very traditional, and dated hotel. I am not sure if the covid restrictions have limited what it can offer (no bar, no evening restaurant etc). Asking about food in the evening I was told to order on a local app for delivery. The hotel would benefit from some modernisation.

First of all, we noticed that you have to register for daily room service, otherwise nothing is done. Our room looked accordingly. The carpet was old and had lots of stains. We had mixed feelings about going into the bathroom. The draining edge on the bathtub partition was disgusting, the upper drain on the sink was moldy, and the worst was the handle of the hairdryer. Sticky and dirty - we didn't even touch the hairdryer! As we had only booked 2 nights, we decided not to take another room, especially as we were told that there would be no cleaning staff (apparently an external company!) present that evening, but we were assured that the problems would be fixed the next morning. Unfortunately, no such luck. When we returned to the room in the afternoon, it was still exactly as we had left it.
This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel!
The beds are very deep and you sleep very restlessly on the hard, somewhat worn-out mattresses. Very small TV with no additional functions such as text.
The staff were reservedly friendly. The breakfast was very good though.
Nevertheless, we won't stay here again.

Price and performance okay. Breakfast very good. Staff very friendly. The rooms are no longer the most modern, nor is the TV equipment. The city center is 12 minutes away on foot. It is very quiet near the university hospital.

The hotel is well located with parking garage just below. The service is really nice and helps! Sure, if you look closely, the hotel has already received one or the other battle blessur :-). But the boys are also calling civilian prices. All in all you can be very good there:-)

If you are going to Leipzig, which by the way is absolutly amazing, you should spent a little bit more money to be able to stay in the absolute downtown of this city. The Dorint is about 6 years old and I have to say a little run down. It is about 1 km away fom downtown, but that doesn't make it any quieter. The breakfast is good and you can even get a steak for breakfast if you want, but staff is not very friendly and does hardly speak any english. A friend of mine who stayed in the marriott on the other hand, couldn't say enough friendlyness and courtesy of the people working there. But read remarks for the marriott please.

Their brochure states they are "an easy walk from the maiin train station." In fact, they are several blocks from there and, if I hadn't had a good map, I would have never found them. Take the trolley to JohanisPlatz and then walk two more blocks to the hotel.

The room was clean and quiet; with a TV, private WC and bath, and a double bed. Breakfast would have extra. The neighborhood was residential, with no businesses nearer than JohanisPlatz. The Old City (where you want to visit) is about a ten minute walk away. The staff was professional and courteous. The hotel seemed to be oriented towards travelers on business or on tours.

I spent the weekend at this hotel and I have to say, the best I can say was that it was very average indeed. The decor is straight from the 90s! When I checked in, I was informed that I had been given one of the nicest rooms in the hotel! It was fine but if that was one of the best rooms, I dread to think what the others were like.

This hotel does not have aircon and was like a greenhouse! Nothing can be done about the weather of course, but perhaps the hotel could offer a fan?

My Accor status wasn't recognized once here - not the end of the world but usually Accor hotels at least mention it!

I had dinner in the bar after I arrived. Every hotel bar in the world does a decent burger so I thought I would try theirs. It arrived and whilst it looked good, it wasn't just cold in the middle, it was actually still frozen! There's absolutely no excuse for that! I wasn't offered a discount/refund - I was given 4 small slices of bread with olive oil with a comment that it was "with the complements" of the chef.

Breakfast was pretty decent to be fair - there was a good selection of hot and cold food to cater for most palettes.

Apparently this hotel has a 4 star rating - I would challenge that and say that it's 3 Star at a push. I am a regular guest at one of the Berlin Mercure hotels, which is a world apart from this and has a 3 star rating.

Disappointing - I would not return to this hotel at all. I am a loyal Accor guest and hence chose this - however I would recommend looking at another Leipzig hotel - there are plenty better choices.

I had a very comfortable Smoking room. The hotel is clean, modern and well maintained and easy to reach from the main railway station. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and seem to be well trained.Good free WiFi Breakfast at €16 is a bit expensive but there is a bakery on the street and many other outlets close by..

Does this hotel offer parking? If so is there a charge for it?
Answer from Value4Money
Zürich
Yes there is indoor parking with a direct lift upstairs and it costs 13 EUR per day. All the quiet streets in the area have street-side parking, but I did not check the conditions for visitors while there. BTW: This hotel is called DORINT HOTEL LEIPZIG and belongs to DORINT chain as per June 1st 2019, no longer to Accorhotel's Mercure chain. However everything but the name stayed the same so far, including the nice staff.
