This is first time when I have nothing to complain about a hotel! Simply the best! Room very clean, spacious, well equipped, etc. Also, the staff is very professional and extremely kind. We felt at home! We will definitely return here!

The hotel is well situated and there are things that deserve praise. For instance, we found the noise insulation very good, the beds very comfortable, the bedlinen lovely, the bathroom pleasant, most interior areas well decorated (I loved the textured wallpaper in the hallways on the main level). These and a few other aspects merit the five-star rating and pricing. Still, both I and my wife agreed that our stay did not have that five-star comfort we wish to enjoy. First, our room was so tiny as to induce claustrophobia. When booking, we read that the room of our choice averaged 25 sq. meters. I understand this is orientational, and I should point out that we read this information on a third-party website. Nevertheless, our room - No. 420 - felt like less than 15 sq. m. of living space and a bathroom of about 5 sq. m. At first we thought we received by bad luck one of the smallest rooms, but the floor plan proved us wrong. On the plus side, the bathroom was spacious, comfortable, clean. It had two sinks - which was nice but somewhat lavish in contrast to the rest of the unit. We would have gladly had a smaller bathroom and a less confined main space. Second, there was no kettle or coffee/tea maker in the room, and no common container in the lobby (the latter would feel cheap, but a solution a coffee addict would forgive). We often find these appliances in motels or cheap 2-3 star hotels when road tripping, so why not the Suitess? True, one can order hot beverages and have them delivered to the room, but this comes at a cost in the shape of ordering, waiting time and a few Euro coins, which just adds an unnecessary complication for tourists eager to hit the streets as soon as possible. Third, the reception is awkwardly placed, which cheapens the impression of the hotel. It is "in the wind" of the entry corridor, just behind the sliding main entrance door. We also felt the employees would be far more comfortable if relocated into a more room-like, dignified area of the lobby, perhaps with also more privacy (I may be wrong, but I did not notice an employee office behind the reception). Fourth, there was a plate with free sweet bakery in the lobby. I took one piece and it was delicious, but my wife rightly observed that an exposed plate (without a lid), sitting right next to reception, for god-knows how long, was more reminiscent of a motel experience. In closing, the Suitess is not a bad place to stay, and I would stay there again if the rate was good and I was a single traveller. I'd give it a better rating if it was designated and priced as a four-star hotel. As a five-star, I give 3.5 stars (which is not possible on TripAdvisor, however). There is a great potential to improve travellers' experience, though.

The Hotel Suitess was exceptional! From the moment we arrived the highly professional staff delivered top notch service. Everything was in place throughout the hotel and constant cleaning was apparent as the entire facility was spotless. A staff member visited our room shortly after we arrived and surprised us with champagne and chocolates. The restaurant recommendations were perfect and the hotel’s location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of Dresden. The complimentary breakfast offerings were exceptional. The valet parking for our car was reasonably priced and prompt. We will definitely be staying at the the Hotel Suitess when we return to Dresden!

pros: super nice staff and very smooth check-in experience, convenient location cons: noisy construction across (even on Saturdays), small-ish rooms with limited options, plastic sheets on the mattress, limited amenities & kits in the rooms. Definitely a convenient and okay hotel, but nowhere near the 5* level it claims in terms of comfort, amenities and size.
