Ideally located beautiful hotel with friendly, helpful staff and a first rate restaurant. We stayed for a short, three-day cycling holiday for which the hotel is perfect. There is plenty of free parking and a store room in an old wine cellar for bikes. Highly recommend!

The rooms are lovely and really clean. The corridors are doctorate and they do give you a palace feeling. There can be a little noise if you have loud neighbors but other than this is perfect. The location is amazing. A lot to do and see around. The breakfast is delicious and service very fast. The stuff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back.

We had a Romantic Package from their homepage which included Dinner-Excellent! Everything was fine, quiet, breakfast good, nice staff, no problems, and yet, disappointing- no feeling of being in a great castle. The furniture was pine in our room which I associate with log cabins, not luxury & antiques. And being winter, the view out our window was roofs of Christmas Market stalls (separate admission), and not very colorful gardens. We also did not know that the castle would not be open until the end of March. However the early morning sun over the Elbe River was beautiful.

Dear travelers, thank you for your visit and for your great review of our team and our cuisine. Our guest rooms are currently getting a completely new outfit with more comfort and charm. In April this year, all rooms were redesigned. However, we are not a castle hotel in the classic sense. Our hotel is a modern romantic hotel directly at the castle park. From mid November to early January, the Christmas Garden takes place every day from 4 p.m. Before that, the park is free of charge for all visitors. The castle museum is only open on weekends during the winter months. Our tip for a colorful garden: Visit from March to October. The Schlosshotel team and the Zepp family send you many best wishes from Pillnitz.

The staff here could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They were thoughtful, outgoing, pre-emptive in trying to help us and understand our needs as two families traveling together, and they were fantastic. The hotel is a bit misleading -- it is not housed in the original castle, rather in an outlining building. The actual castle is within the grounds of the park; and the park is open to the public (for a fee - both to the public and hotel guests) from morning to evening. It is possible to wander in the park in early morning or late evening hours without paying a fee (and I strongly encourage doing so - the grounds are beautiful) but beware, they do close the gates to the garden exactly when they say they will, and it's a bit distressing to be caught inside. The hotel was comfortable and adequate, definitely 3 star, not 4. Rooms were a pleasant size, there was a minibar, and the beds were decently comfortable. There is no air conditioning and the furnishings were gently worn. Breakfast was a decent variety, with lots of lovely choices, and a couple hot "made to order" options. As long as you are not lofty in your expectations, this hotel was very comfortable and pleasant to stay at.

Great location and outstanding service, this is what I experienced in Schloss-Hotel Dresden-Pillnitz repeatedly. The place is very quiet. Access to the city center is easy via bike, ship or public transport.
