A good hostel, almost exemplary in its category. Excellent quality/price ratio. Everything is new, clean, good, staff, executive and discreet, at the reception all problems are resolved quickly. And rental superb - the hostel is located near the Markt-platz, with the church of St.Gangolph in 100 metres, the cathedral is at 150 metres away and the Porta Nigra at nearly...

Appreciated the complimentary room upgrade. Friendly, helpful staff. Pretty good breakfast, and liked the complimentary apples throughout the day. Good WiFi. Really an excellent hostel experience. Unfortunately, Trier has little going for it, and even its storied Roman Baths are under renovation and cannot be visited. Everything in the Karl Marx House can be viewed online, and 5 minutes at...

No wifi in the rooms, just in the lobby. Shared bathroom and shower with clogging drains. Most of it decorated in loud orange and yellow colours. Staff including the breakfast staff don't really seem to like being there. You get what you pay for, and I understand that, but this could have easily been more than just you're standard German...

I stayed 3 nights here, and the room was great. Comfy bed, sink in the room, nice showers down the hall. Breakfast was very good, and they had apples out in the lobby. Speaking of the lobby, that is the only place you could get the WiFi. If they had WiFi in the rooms, I would have marked it as...

Very nice hostel, we slept in a double room, small but clean and tidy. The shared bathrooms were good and the breakfast was great. In addition the location is perfect, 200 m from the main square. Only the reception staff was quite cold.

This is a very simple place, almost like a youth hostel. The buildings are nice, and the location excellent. But! We arrived in the evening, and the night manager was unhelpful, to put it mildly. He was obviously uncomfortable in the heat; he was very "big" and could barely breath... He would have been better off in a hospital. Anyway,...

Koplinghaus is a decent hostel, catering to an older clientele from what I could see during my visit. Four adults stayed in a hostel room that was clean and had a sink. Bathroom is out in the hall. The downsides were that the room was stuffy with not much airflow and you had to go to the lobby to get...

We stayed as a group of families in May 2016. Not easy to find with a vehicle and you definitely need to book parking. The reception was full and chaotic due to broken PC and the staff very unfriendly. We waited for 30 mins whilst the receptionist ran left and right without even saying hello to us. The key was...

Cozy room, friendly staff, great breakfast, good rates. Bus stop just a few steps away. I highly recommend and would stay here again! Internet is NOT available in rooms, which was disappointing as I needed to work while I was there. Internet is available in the lobby, which was overrun with teenagers during my stay. But it is a hostel,...

I stayed here both times I traveled to Trier in 2011 and 2012. The facilities, staff, and location are EXCELLENT! This is the only place I'll stay when I go back to visit Trier. There is a lovely outdoor seating area where you can enjoy a beer or a glass of wine, and many of the landmarks, shopping areas, etc...

“There were numerous little bistro cafes lining the pedestrian road from the hotel to the Pora Nigra, lots of choices! There was an awesome little Irish pub around the corner from the hotel with live music and lots of drink choices.”
