I was staying here for 3 days last year October while visiting Essen Spiel 2015. Very pleasant Petul Hotel is. Quite spacious room with proper and clean bathroom. Wifi connection quick enough but could be better, at least its for free. Restaurant downstairs very good with enough choice of food for breakfast. All amenities that you need are in the...

I stayed here for a conference and found the rooms simple but comfortable. There was some noise from the road but the windows were double-glazed so that helped. There is a nice bar downstairs which is open all hours, and the breakfast was good. There are no tea or coffee facilities in the room. The staff were all friendly and...

This hotel is a very basic hotel. I was staying with my wife in a room with only 1 power socket outlet. The road outside was very noisy with cars passing by even in wee hours. Bathroom is small and barely able to turn around when shower screen is closed. Clean but not too comfortable. Pillows are very very thin....

We didn't come across the rude receptionist referred to in the last review. In fact all the reception staff were female, very helpful and spoke English. The hotel is more than adequate and above average for the rates they charge, convenient for the motorway and provide free parking. Places to eat locally is limited, but they do exist

I can say, I am a world traveller and every year I stay at least 50 hotels around the world. I haven't that bad staff in my life. The receptionist( I do not know he may be the owner of the hotel) He was like a German officer from second world war. He said he doesn't speak english and he...

My hotel was located on Essener strasse 49. There is another Petul down the street. My room was good and clean and very silent. First, I couldn't find the hotel, because there is a sign of Lidl supermarket above the entrance. All is electronic. No reception. No lobby. That makes it very impersonal. There was a shared kitchen (microwave, fridge)...

Have used this Hotel twice for weekend visits to company head office parties, clean, adequate rooms with good staff and absolutely problem free. Outside of building can be described as "colourful" but in no way displeasing, a group of drunks seem to hang around some way down the road and are a bother if you are walking but apart from...

Late booking for a show in Dusseldorf so this was the only thing we could find under €300 per night. Staff were really friendly but in all other ways it was poor. Thankfully the hotel has been repainted & some modernisation completed since it was photographed on Goggle Street view but not convinced that this extended to the floor I...

Petul hotel is located a bit on site with small green square in front of. Few parking places are usually fully occupied. Reception girls speaks Germish (German version of English) but are usually smiling and helpful. I have got a small room with peaceful view on the white wall of next building. No elevator but hotel rooms are on only...
