We stayed only one night, but the atmosphere of the whole hotel, the hospitality of the owner and the hygiene were really great. Also the room was very nice, big and cosy. The breakfast was also really great. The location is on walking distance to the main attractions. So the next time we visit Cologne, we are going to visit...

This hotel is located in a quiet street, is clean, well maintained with an excellent breakfast, even salmon was included in the breakfast and a large variety of juices and fruits. The hotel is located three streets away from the train station and only a street away from the river.

The Buchholz hotel is situated within easy walking distance to Colognes famous Gothic cathedral, train station, several museums, other attractions of interest and shopping streets. We booked a triple room and were delighted with the ambiance of a spacious room with high ceilings and large windows. We were fortunate to find parking just outside the front door of the hotel....

I marked late check in when I made the reservation. They tried contacting me, while I was in Germany (couldn't use cell phone) to see what time I'd be arriving. I took a cab from the airport & arrived around 10pm. They were waiting on me and had a quick check in. I love the old room keys & 1...

The room was a cozy, clean, and close to the Dom, train station, and several other attractions. We arrived around noon, too early for normal check in, yet they gave us the key and said feel free to drop your bags in the room and we will clean the room while you are out. No hassle and all positive. Chocolates...

Very friendly family run hotel within easy walking distance of the Dom. We had two basic but adequate rooms, including one triple room. Good quality breakfast. Not that cheap compared to other towns but compared well to other Cologne hotels. Parking is a bit tight, but we found a space with a meter nearby which gave us 2 hours in...

I picked this hotel a week before my trip, but it was not my first choice as it was not ranked as high as the other bigger hotels. However, at the time of booking, the price for this hotel was just right. And after my stay, I am glad I stayed here. Note: The hotel room is really small, but...

I stayed here on business and it turned out to be a lot nicer than my "regular" hotel. Although this place isn't fancy and certainly doesn't have the facilities of a large, international hotel, if you like a small, hotel with a welcoming, family-run feel, I think this is worth considering. The room was small and basic with a rather...

Primary reason for travelling to Cologne was to experience the Christmas markets – well worth the visit. Wanted a hotel near the centre but quiet. Stayed at the Hotel Buchholz for two nights. Delivered against all expectations – even managed to park outside the hotel for two days without a ticket! Welcome at the hotel was just right after a...

As has been said, this Hotel is located less than a 10 minute walk to the east of the Hauptbanhof, I say 'less than 10 minutes' as we walk quickly ! The Hotel is set in a quiet residential road, opposite a modern office block and is a plesant old building. The rooms are of very good size, clean and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A Hearty Welcome to the Buchholz Downtown Hotel Hotel Buchholz with its attractive Victorian facade is one of Cologne's most charming "town house" hotels in the Kunibertsviertel. The hotel provides a quiet retreat away from the urban rush, situated in a small street just minutes from the city centre and a short walk from the River Rhine. The Buchholz family run and manage this affordable accommodation, and together with their friendly and courteous English - speaking staff ensure a hearty and warm welcome is given to all guests on their arrival. Whether your visit to Cologne is for business or pleasure, our central but quiet location is an excellent base for visiting the exhibition halls, various museums, our famous cathedral and other places of interest. Just a short walk from the hotel along the River Rhine embankment is "Old Cologne" with its many bars and restaurants.
