Very traditional hotel with a history going back to 1904 or before. Old structure, renovated but still having a old feel. Our room was large, looking out over the courtyard so indeed quiet. Bathroom lacks sufficient light for make-up, and floods when you shower in the bath tub which is not easy to get into for older people. Free wi-fi... More

Free ample parking in secure area behind hotel. Delightful room. Extremely well presented. We had a very quiet room at rear of hotel although there is the option of lakeside rooms at the front. Liked the fact the windows fully opened unlike many hotels. Wifi fine . Would benefit from tea and coffee facilities in room. Lovely room overlooking lake... More

The WIFI only works in the lobby and not your room. Mini frig advertised didn't work.Their free parking lot only handles 10 vehicles. Then you need to find and pay for your own parking. The facility is old which is fine if it is updated and well maintained this facility is neither. They do have an excellent breakfast for a... More

After a week in Hamburg, we were looking for a quiet, scenic getaway in a traditional Northern German small town and decided upon Schwerin because of the castle and museums. Tripadvisor reviews indicated that Niederlandischer was one of the better hotels in the town. A five minute walk for the train station put us in front of this historic (1901),... More

I spent six nights at the hotel. From the first night it was obvious that the hotel had a very special ambience and atmosphere that sets it apart from others. From the free glass of fine sherry in the elegance of the olde-world library on the first evening, to the help down the front stairs with my luggage on the... More

First of all, it's worth mentioning that Schwerin is a delightful place and may well be the most underrated of German cities. Fantastic old town, all houses in excellent shape. Wow. Hotel Niederländischer Hof is well-located, in walking distance to all the sights and attractions and still very quiet (but then, this goes for the entire city). Our room was... More

Pluses - perfect location facing a lake-side promenade with all of old town Schwerin in easy walking distance. Our suite was huge, with a walk-in closet, chairs and sofa, table and desk. Free WiFi worked - slow but glitch-free. OK bed, excellent pillows. Free and easy parking, which is a huge plus in Schwerin. Minuses - the upholstered furniture smelled... More

The hotel is just down a short street from the train station and is located on a large lake within easy walking distance of the downtown area. The hotel is attractive, and rooms are lovely: spacious, quiet, and nicely decorated; and the bathrooms are particularly nice. The staff ls helpful. The public areas of the hotel include a small bar... More

in a beautiful town! The Hotel is located at the Pfaffen Lake in walking distance to the town. Rooms are tasteful decorated. Each room different. The breakfast is good, the dinner very good. Drinks are served at the fire place, a little English. Outstanding service from the young waiter ARTHUR.

This is a very good hotel in the centre of Schwerin with its own free private parking. The location is perfect for visiting the city as well as driving out into surrounding countryside. We had paid for a larger double room (room 203) and it was fantastic with three tall windows looking over the lake, a separate dressing room, minibar... More
