This was my 5th visit to the cottage and everything, as usual, was 1st class! The breakfasts were fulsome and delicious, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the house was very pleasant with a nice atmosphere. Andy and Gill have continued Ian and Hilary's great work, making me feel welcome and going out of their way to fulfil...

This is a return visit for us and as Hilary and Ian had retired wondered if anything had changed. The answer is no the new owners Andy and Gill have picked up everything and kept it all so lovely. It was a gem when we travelled from Scotland a couple of years ago and still is, Gill's breakfast table is...

A lovely B&B with beautifully appointed rooms and excellent food at breakfast, including delicious home made jams. We were really well looked after here and would definitely stay again. The complimentary home made chocolates and biscuits in our room were a lovely touch and the welcome we received was warm and friendly. Plenty of parking space and free wifi too!...

I sometimes wonder why I book into places such as Premier Inns where breakfast is extra when one has little gems like Middle Holly on the A6. Beautiful rooms, all the extras as standard and great breakfast too. Keep this place in mind if you are travelling the M6.... It's just down the A6 from J33 or just up the...

Would I stay again and would I recommend to a friend? Yes, on both counts. The only downside is that, although the address is Preston, it seemed closer to Lancaster. Good recommendations for an evening meal approx. 1/2 mile walk. Good breakfast.

This was just what we needed to break our journey driving from Inverness to London. Easily accessible from Motorway, parking easy, room quiet. The room was comfortable - everything just right. Mega breakfast was very good (you don't need to have everything. My partner left a few items out of the fried feast). The hosts very accommodating and friendly but...

Middle Holly cottage is easily reached from M6, lots of off road parking, excellent stopover as we travelled south. Comfortable room, peaceful location, beautiful garden and tasty breakfast made our short stay a happy one.

Middle Holly Cottage is just on the edge of one of the most beautiful areas of Britain. The Trough of Bowdon is a hilly, farming area full of sheep and stock with beautiful views. There is even a church dedicated to Shepherds in Abbeystead where there are hooks inside the door for crooks and clogs! Hilary and Ian Jarman, who run...
