Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you read the website carefully, there will be no surprises with this hostel. Despite the initial worry about it being in the red light district, between around 7am to 11pm this hostel is quiet and safe. The kitchen was decent, as were the rooms and bathrooms. The staff were friendly as well, and the social space by the reception made up for the fact that the area was less desirable.

I liked the location.

Cons:
_The bathrooms were far from the room.
_Locker: was a kind of wooden box under the bed, whose opening was at its top. Then we had to remove the box completely, which generated a lot of noise and annoyance, in addition to the weight of the locker.
_The hostel was full of fees in addition to those charged by Booking. The daily is already expensive and there were still more fees (foto attached)! There was a fee even for the use of the bedding!

Hostel it self is super accomodating, clean and is in an excellent location close to the central train station in Frankfurt. My only issue and concern with the hostel was really the fact that the streets around it seem to have a bit of hard drugs going on and as a female solo traveller, it had me on edge a little. Mainly at the evening it was quite bad.

Although Breakfast was great, rooms clean and bathrooms great. I would stay again though but be very mindful of the situation around the hostel.

Due to the Covid19, our trip was cancelled as Europe is with closed boarders to Brazilians.
After talking to 10 different hotels in order to postpone on cancel the stay, 5Elements was the only accommodation that refused to understand the situation and to provide a free cancellation or even a discount.
Lack of support, empathy and willing to make money on you.

Horrible experience with a fellow room person who abused me constantly, grabbed me and then carried on abusing me after damaging my bed area and breaking my light.

If your wondering what I did I tried to get dressed and ready at 0730 in the morning and was trying to be as quiet as possible.

Although I must say the staff were brilliant and were extremely helpful in dealing with this and went out their way to help me but still a horrible experience

I arrived at 6am after an overnight bus. I explained that I was after a bed for that evening, not right now. The receptionist told me that I could book and pay for a bed but was unable to use the facilities in the common dining areas. I explained that I had just arrived off a bus and that I had no where to go at 6am in the morning. I was told there was nothing that could be done.

Apparently someone said exactly what I was about to say just a few days ago (which I didn’t have the chance to read as I had already booked the hostile 2 weeks ago). So as for the inside, it’s fine. Clean, and seems safe…but dear God, the exterior. I literally had to step over one crackhead and push past another in the actual doorway just to push the buzzer to be let inside. I am from the US and Atlanta has its fair share of drugs and homeless (and I’ve been to many many countries including the Netherlands), but I have never seen that many cracked out people in one block in all of my life. I’m pretty sure I saw about 5-7 drug deals in a matter of 30 seconds. I had my 15 yr old with me and thought hey, it’s a hostile, it will be fine. Sometimes they are in sketchy areas…but this is WAY past that. A guy literally tried to grab my daughter as we walked the 1.5 blocks to the train station. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This place really needs to have their own security. Also, I would like to mention that on the backside of the hostile in the alley way, there was a full blown fight occurring at about 10/11pm the one night we stayed. Please don’t stay here if you have kids…or value your own life. It’s not even that cheap.

The girl at the front desk should be in the street with her passive aggressive lock guy ;) her personality is as dangerous as the hostel area after 8pm.
They broke the lock on my locker without calling me first...
Bathroom it was very dirty...
Dangerous district ! Be careful
