The reception was friendly and very devoted to the new guest. Check-in was fast and professional. Our room was clean and tidy and soundproofed, so no noise was heard in the evening or morning. A really rare customer-friendly service was the free minibar, which was refilled daily with various soft drinks. The Wellnes area was okay. The sauna was - despite other information - only actually usable from 17:45h. But the breakfast was annoying. Apart from the fact that the quality and selection did not correspond to the relatively high price, the staffing of this service team by the management was also under all criticism. The employees could hardly cope with the morning rush, even with the best will and commitment, in particular were missing essentials for a very long time. Components of the (minimalist) buffet. In this respect, the rating is very ambiguous.
The hotel was clean and clear, room on the 6th floor had a good view of the city. No real noise issues other than the odd tram going by below.
Breakfast was plentiful and a good mix of continental and warm. On Saturday there was a queue to get in and it was very busy.
Most of the staff were fine, they didn't interact and did the basics, that's the only reason not 5 star really.
Would stay again if in Frankfurt.
There was a sauna on second floor but didn't use.
Very disappointing lack of ability to solve problems though. Someone in my company booked a room for me at the wrong Innside in Frankfurt. I arrived at 22:30 at Innside Ostend.
Reception pointed out the error.
Whilst there was a room available in the Ostend hotel at the same price, she was unable to transfer the booking. I spend 20 minutes asking the receptionist to find a solution. She couldn’t. I therefore had to get across town at 11 at night.
How disappointing that Innside were unable to move my booking from one branch to the other.
The receptionist should have been empowered to find a solution that would have cost Insside €0 and saved me a taxi ride across town at 11pm.
What is most unfortunate is that they’ll only now respond to my messages now I’ve left this review. If you’re looking for a hotel that lives up the stereotype of poor German customer service, it’s this one! You’re better off going to a more reputable hotel. I completely regret this booking as we booked it last minute due to work!
For me it is clear that if I am in Frankfurt, it will definitely not be the Melia Ostend!!!

The next day we were offered either a complimentary dinner or a 10% discount on our last night and were moved for a 4th time. Talk about terrible customer service.. We started on the 6th room with a lovely view and ended on the 3rd floor.. but hey, at least AC works. I can say I’ve experienced better service at many hostels I’ve stayed in. This hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and it’s well located. If that’s all you care about and don’t mind the warm weather or noisy streets, this is not a bad place. I am sure there are plenty of other places to stay in Frankfurt with much better service. The bar is set low here. I would not come back.
