Hotel AMANO Grand Central offers a mixed bag of experiences, according to guest feedback. While the hotel's location next to the train station and in the heart of Berlin is widely appreciated for its convenience, opinions on the service are split, with some praising the staff and others pointing out inefficiencies and poor management. The rooms, described as modern and comfortable by many, are not without their faults, including noise and cleanliness issues. Cleanliness receives high marks overall, but bathroom maintenance has been called into question. The atmosphere is generally regarded as quiet and the beds comfortable, but the decor doesn't appeal to everyone. In terms of value, guests are divided; some feel the hotel offers good value given its prime location, while others consider the prices high relative to the amenities and room quality, noting that extras like breakfast can add up.

I was very satisfied with the hotel overall. The breakfast was also absolutely fine in terms of price-performance ratio. The location is perfect. The staff at the reception, the cleaning staff and the staff in the breakfast area were, contrary to what some have read, very friendly and attentive. The room was cleaned very thoroughly every day. The room (superior room) was very spacious and pleasantly located. I also found it quiet, which means that the noise was no more or less than in comparable 3-star hotels of this type. My only criticism was that the sofa was quite saggy. The breakfast was fine for the current price of €18. There was a choice of at least 3 types of rolls, as well as bread, toast, croissants and chocolate rolls. There were several types of cheese and sausage, as well as jams, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, chicken salad, etc. Various types of coffee and tea, juices, etc. Anyone who criticizes the price here should take a look at what a sandwich costs at the bakery. The lobby is very nice and there is direct access to a restaurant. I was very satisfied and would book this hotel again at any time without reservation or hesitation. There are also smaller and cheaper rooms, so everyone has to decide for themselves what they want.

A large hotel very close to Berlin Hauptbahnhof. The rooms are modern and comfortable, the ones on the courtyard are very quiet, I could sleep with open windows. The very dark decor and the glas partition to the bathroom (no curtain...) may not be to everyone's taste. The tablet computer for controlling the large scren on the wall is not really necessary either. Despite these points, recommended for overnight stops or for ease of access to the S-Bahn network.

The hotel has a good location and we felt very safe in that area near the train station of Berlin. Also the train and bus connections in all different directions of Berlin were available and easy to access.
We stayed in our room for four nights and it was quite small, but it had everything that we needed. The only thing that we could complain about is the cleanliness of the bath room, there were a few tufts of hair laying in the shower, which was quite disgusting.
We would both recommend the hotel for a city trip to Berlin, because the price performance ratio was very good and we would definitely return to a hotel from the Amano group.

The rooms were OK but there were a few problems. The shower head on the highest setting barely reached the shoulder. There was a Nespresso machine but you had to pay 1.5 euros per capsule. There were no spoons for your cup, just sticks. The drinks in the minibar were also completely overpriced. During our three-day stay, neither the minibar nor the coffee capsules were refilled. The much-hyped roof terrace was closed at 11.30pm on the first evening. On the second evening, security sent you back to reception to get a wristband or stamp. At reception you were then told that a private event was taking place there and hotel guests were not allowed in. On the third evening you were told that you could only get a wristband until 9.30pm, after which you needed a stamp because there were two different events. That was too much for me as a hotel guest. Above all, three different statements from three members of staff. In the French bistro I ordered a chanterelle dish but got something indefinable without chanterelles. It was probably shiitake mushrooms. On the second evening there was no opportunity to eat as the bistro was closed for a wedding. The service concept for hotel guests tends towards zero in this establishment.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel recently and can only highly recommend it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made the stay pleasant from the start. The hotel is very clean and offers a pleasant ambience that immediately makes you feel at home.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable: just 3 minutes walk from the main train station and just 10 minutes from the government district. This makes it the ideal starting point for business travelers and tourists alike.

I would particularly like to highlight the breakfast buffet, which offers a wide selection of delicious food and is the perfect way to start the day. Another highlight is the rooftop bar, which not only offers a great selection of drinks, but also a fantastic view over the city.

By Berlin standards, the hotel offers a cheap way to eat well, and there are also numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity that offer affordable and delicious food.

All in all, a great place to discover and enjoy Berlin. I will certainly be back!

This hotel is next to the central station which provides excellent convenience travelling within and outside of Berlin. The central stations has number of food options for food and breakfast.
The room was decent and modern looking. It has standard features that you would expect. The bathrooom was comes with standard amenities.
Essentally this hotel provides standard features and services but i guess it does provides good value for the price we paid and its location.

We visited the Classic Remise (vintage car exhibition) on Wiebestr. As I have always stayed in hotels of the AMANO group on my last visits to Berlin and was always impressed, this time I chose the Grand Central due to its central location near the main train station. I would also recommend this hotel without reservation!

It was a 3 day overnight stay. Check-in went very smoothly. But only the room key was given without additional information about breakfast, etc. We had a reservation including breakfast. We had already paid for that in advance. The first morning we were turned away because they said we didn't have breakfast in our booking. After I showed the booking including breakfast, we were allowed in. Mistakes happen, that in itself is not a problem. But the fact that this happened again the next two mornings is not okay. The staff never apologized either. When we pointed out on the third day that this was already the third day in a row, the woman also rolled her eyes. The pillows were also way too thin. It was very uncomfortable. I now see that this has already been reported by customers in reviews from 2017. So it's a shame that nothing is being done about this. The cleaning man was the only one who was always friendly and our room was always cleaned very well. The location was also very good.

This is not a hotel. A nightmare. I’m not talking about noise and everything else; it’s impossible to open the window. The reception is only open to accept money. When checking out, the person at the reception was completely asleep. For a bottle of water, which is given as a compliment in all hotels, they charged 10 euros. The shower room stinks and water leaks from all the holes. The blocked money was never returned, I ask the expedition to help in this matter. In a word, find yourself another hotel and stay away from this one.

After staying at this hotel for one night, I noticed that many things are not working properly.
First of all, when I arrived, I found black men hair on the bed, which was supposed to be clean.
Secondly, there were no extra blankets or pillows in case they were needed. Thirdly, the bathroom door is extremely difficult to open, extremely noisy when closing because it closes too tightly, and impossible to keep open. The couple bed had two mattress and they moved all the time and split up. They were not fixed.
Fourth and finally, the cleaning staff showed an extreme lack of professionalism in the morning; from 9am they started cleaning the rooms, they talked loudly, you could hear a woman and a man laughing and opening and slamming the doors with an incredible lack of sensitivity. The room is not soundproofed and everything that goes on can be heard. At 10am they knocked on our door and said they had to clean even though our check-out was at 12pm. I told them the room was still occupied. At 11 o'clock a man opened the room door and came in, shouting and saying the room needed to be cleanned, even though there was a sign outside the door asking for quiet and informing that there were guests in the room. This is completely nonsensical. We pointed out again that we were supposed to check out at 12 o'clock, but the man didn't seem to want to understand. We had to leave the room before checking out as we no longer felt comfortable or safe there.
We complained at the check-in/out desk and received an apology, but nothing more. If they want to charge guests for their stay, they need to make sure they provide excellent service and not let the cleaning staff kick guests out of their rooms. I have no intention of returning to this hotel.
