I stayed at this hotel during the first week of January, and my experience mirrors the previous recent reviews. This is a nice quiet hotel with cordial staff in an excellent location. My room was also small, but this was not important because I spent little time in the room other than to sleep. In addition to bars and restaurants,... More

This is a very cute, clean, pretty well located hotel. The only thing people should know is that the rooms are New York Style Tiny... really small. If you're sharing, you better like the person you are sharing with...

Just returned from a great trip to Berlin. Stayed 3 nights at the Best Western Mite and would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect for enjoying all of Berlins sights and attractions. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close to the hotel and you are only a... More

This is a very trendy designer-style hotel (beige-brown modernist furniture, walk-in shower and all that) on a budget (paid just under EUR 75). It's ideally located near Bahnhof Friedrichstrasse, from where there are connections all across the city (if you come from Tegel, take the Underground exit Oranienburger Strasse - it's closer). The Deutsche Theater is just around the corner.... More

Good location , near Freidrichstrasse station. Rooms a bit small, and when we were there there was no door between the bedroom and the wash-hand basion and shower. Which seeemed very odd. There was of course a shower door. Staff friendly and helpful. Along the river about a 2 minute walk away there are somne nice bars. There is an... More

Excellent location close to Freidrichstrasse rail station (best to cross the river by the footbridge under the railway). New hotel but lacks a/c so ask for a fan if needed. Rooms are not large but very adequate, and at current prices is excellent vfm. Good breakfast but there are a lot of coffee shops around if you don't want to... More

I stayed from Fri 10th to Wednesday 15th Aug 2007. The location of this hotle is perfect - it's about 200m from Fredrichdatrasse Station which is one of the major S Bahn and UBahn stations in Berlin. This measn that when you come from Schoenfeld Airport, the train stops about 200m before your hotel. Also if you want to get... More

We have just returned from a 3 day trip to Berlin where we stayed at the Best Western Berlin Mitte. Having booked our accommodation quite cheaply on Last Minute, I was a bit wary as to what to expect when we arrived but I was pleasantly surprised. This hotel is in an excellent location, within a few minutes walk of... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
