I stayed at this hotel for 5 days during IFA 2016. The hotel has a rustic feel but upon entering the building you will find it very cozy with modern and contemporary art. The staff are helpful. The room that I had was a standard room, it is small but adequate facing the road. All the necessity i.e., shower gel,...

We stayed at the Ellington during the Easter weekend (13-17/4) in room 432, the hotel is located in one of the most amazing areas in berlin, in the heart of the city, off the corner of the amazing Kudamm Boulevard with its great shops. KaDeWe is also just around the corner.. metro stops within 2 minutes walk from the hotel!...

Stayed at The Ellington Hotel for a long weekend. No problem checking in early with the friendly helpful reception staff . Room was bright and clean . Good powerful shower and comfortable bed. Coffee making facilities would have been nice but it's really not the end of the world. Breakfast buffet is good and with plenty of choice. Pleasantly surprised...

The open plan room style was difficult to get used to but then I loved it. Overall it's a very nice building, the staircases alone are fantastic. The Jazz theme is not my taste but it works very well and all areas are stylish. The rooms are modern, very clean and everything works perfectly. The staff are professional, friendly and...

We had a smaller room as we had been gifted a voucher. The hotel is in a really cool building. The bar is really nice, as was the room albeit our room was a bit small but fine for a weekend city trip. The beds are super comfy and we slept very well. Loved the breakfast buffet. It was a...

The hotel is extremely conveniently located close to the zoo and public transportation. The room has a lot of light and feels spacious. As other reviewers indicated, the shower is in the room with no physical separation, so if privacy is important, this should be noted. The hotel is very clean and modern in style. Overall it was a positive...

Located 5 minutes from Berlin Zoo (and it's excellent S-Bahn and U-Bahn connections) and named after The Duke, it comes as no surprise to learn this hotel has a strong link to Jazz - it even has a resident FM Radio Station within its confines. This hotel doesn't disappoint in almost every sense; rooms are quirky with a typically practical...

Stayed at the hotel for 3 wonderful nights. The room was compact, but it had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Our room overlooked the main road but we never heard any noise. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. Staff are exceptional and very attentive. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice. Will definitely be back....

I have stayed here three times and will be back again.... The building has lots of History, hospital, Jazz club etc. It has a very modern feel to it, great bar area, very good breakfast and is smack in the middle of the town.

I had expected more from this popular hotel but was disappointed by: 1. Interior design of the Delux room - totally open concept without doors to bathroom. The open bathroom also faced a window to the main road, which looked directly into the building right across. Total lack of privacy. 2. Insufficient lighting, relying on natural light from big windows...

Thanks for your statement and as well for the critical words. Thats a pity that you didnt like the rooms. But we show and offer the open bathroom - concept on all booking platforms - all of our rooms are in that style. Yes, we are in the middle of the town, directly around the corner of the famous Kudamm....

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
