Clean, comfortable, central location, friendly staff…couldn’t want anything more.
Lidls right next door if you want any snacks or water etc.
Come out the hotel front door and turn left and walk to end of street and turn right and you are in shopping heaven, Hard Rock Cafe, Starbucks and lots of independent stalls and shops.

Hotel rooms are serviced by a lift to all floors and the room we had had a bath/shower, two single beds (although very close together as is case in a lot of European countries), a TV, a kettle with tea/coffee. Room very clean and beds comfortable after a long day sightseeing.

Would highly recommended this hotel as what we paid for three nights was a great bargain

I have stay diffirI have stayed in several different Accor hotels, but this hotel does not immediately deliver to the Mercure standard and 4 stars.

The reception:
We experienced from the arrival that the receptionists, it was more like a duty job, more than making the guests feel welcome. When you arrived at the hotel after been out in town , they never said hello, normally when you pass a reception you just get a smile on the way, and possibly a hello, here nothing even if they only look on the screen no reaction. Only on the last day was there one said good morning, i chock little, and when asked when check out, if it was ok, just didn't have the energy to explain that the standard was missing.

The breakfast
Was nice and delicious especially the first few days when e.g. bacon was crispy and delicious, nothing was missing from the buffet, but the sloppy bacon the last few days could have been better.

Cleaning
We skipped cleaning after the first night, but ask for an extra roll of toilet paper, there is nothing to do but run out. The rest of the days we had cleaning, and on the last day we had not received an extra roll of toilet paper, unfortunately it was only discovered when it had to be used, which meant visits to the toilet with missing paper as a result. In any case, it can be done better by always having a roll in use and a spare.

Maintenance
We live in Europe, where you go up in climate and pass on resources such as water and heat, our toilet ran with water the first morning, which I told the reception. She didn't seem particularly interested, but wrote it down. The toilet was also not running when we came back later. But after the first use it ran again. So that's why we chose to have the cleaning done the following days, since thinking green and about the climate was perhaps not that important to the hotel after all.

Very friendly staff in all areas. The price was very good company to the level of the hotel. The breakfast had many varieties and was fresh in all type of food. The hygiene at the rooms Unfortunately could be much better. Hairs from the people before are not that what you want see at the bath tab. Obviously directly beside the towel so everyone must see it when place the towel.
We booked two rooms each next to the other with a connection door (families know why) but only one person can open that door and this person was not in charge that time?🙄 sorry but when families book 2 rooms and ask for connection door everyone can assume they want get this door open. With children it is very troublesome to leave the regular room door open to find the parents. So we only am had the chance to stay each with one kid but that was not the expectation on holiday.
Hotel don’t have parking space. Guests they not wear mask in elevator or ground floor hade not been informed by staff to do so, even they had seen it.

Summarized a good price service balance with little issues they nowadays shouldn’t happen. Especially in 4* category. Anyway we get the feeling the Hotel understand such feedback and will work on that. So next time we in Berlin we will give a new try.

The four stars are something else.
I book a quadruple room even though initially I think I'm alone... then I realize my wife and kids can come too.
I communicate it and, in addition to the obvious surcharge for sheets and towels, they ask me a crazy amount for the addition of two beds (already it was a quadruple, at least the beds should have been there).
After haggling by email with the only one in the hotel who spoke English (he was kind) the figure is reduced.
We arrive at 2230, already at check-in I am asked to pay the difference (what a welcome... usually you pay at check out, especially considering that the bulk had already been paid in advance...).
In any case we go up to leave the suitcases, but the room has only 2 beds.
We ask to resolve while we go for a bite, on the way back nothing has changed.
With a lot of effort we try to make ourselves understood (we speak Italian, English, French and Spanish), finally we manage to change rooms where there are two additional cots.
The hotel itself is really old, in the rooms letà is noticeable in all aspects, including the bathroom sink all cracked and stuccoed... the elevator works in hiccups...
Very poor facilities (not even a shower cap, not to mention other amenities...).
Decent breakfast (but very far from 4stars), courteous waiting staff.
To sum up, if the expectation was two stars, it would have been a nice surprise...
For those who want something more than a 2 star, I would not recommend it...

First of all please be clear that this hotel is not perfect, the decor is quite old and the breakfast was very ordinary (and a little understaffed).
However this is why I am giving it 5 stars: reception were friendly and helpful, and most importantly the combination of price and location is excellent value for money. And moreover the location is really nice, good for a stroll, with loads of nice parks and restaurants. We didn’t really know Berlin, but wanted to be well located for both the Olympic stadium and the city centre sights, and this hotel fits the bill. And it is only 5 minute (pleasant) walk from the nearest S Bahn station.
Would stay here again.

The location of the hotel is great. Near
S and U-Bahn and Bus stop and you can walk by foot along the main Avenue Kurfurstendamm. Near the hotel lots of bars and restaurants. Try Benedict.
The room for 3 was nice big with space quite and has a nice bathroom. The room was clean every day. The breakfast is good.
The staff is friendly and help with smile especially Christine. She was in the chek in and out, helped us with the sim for the phone, arranged transfer to the airport and more.

Solid and very central Mercure hotel with classic, well maintained and spotless rooms. During Covid-19 limited housekeeping and bar service. The high light is the staff who deliveres very personalised service which makes you feel welcome and valued, individual guest rather than just a room number. Very human to human touch which can be difficult to reach in large hotels. Lack of restaurant (exept breakfast) is easily compensated by the great location with lots of options by foot. Public transport also available around the corner. We enjoyed our stay. Danke schön!

A table and couple of chairs on the spacious balcony would make the terrace perfect.

The hotel is a 4 star, but frankly it doesn't look like it. Some receptionists (this applies to males) are unsympathetic, uncooperative and unempathetic. Never a greeting or a smile. The female staff is of a different background, nice and kind. Cleanliness is not much, old and stained carpet, limestone stains on the outside of the tub and on the tiles (evidently never clean). Minimal breakfast and with swinging quality food. Drink dispensers on the floor (the fridge bar is empty) that give no change: the staff of course does not help since the machines do not belong to them. Unpleasant smell in the room that does not go away even keeping the window open. Relative air conditioning, as if there were none. Frankly, I was very disappointed.

This hotel doubled its normal rates due to a local convention.
As a hundred euro hotel it is still very mediocre.
As a two hundred plus euro one expects more
Heating did not work-maintenance could not repair…
Tv didn’t work for 3 nights“ Maintenance man not available on weekend!!???
Staff can hardly speak English and hardly know their computer.
Front desk staff don’t greet you as you come in and out.
Mattresses have not been changed, probably since hotel opened.
You are lucky if your room gets made up( some days some days - no
That is why I rate this hotel so badly
Positive side- good location….

Very friendly and helpful staff were always on hand to answer any questions. Rooms were comfortable with a kettle and fridge and you could air them well. Breakfast was obviously a more limited affair than normal but it was very quiet. I was often the only guest. The location is fantastic.

Hi, I'm not sure if the direction makes a significant difference, but I recently (June 16) caught a taxi from the Mercure Chateau Hotel to the Tegel Airport and it cost €23. It's only about 20mins or so.
