Meliá Berlin has garnered praise for its welcoming atmosphere and well-appointed rooms that offer a haven of tranquility and comfort. Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel's location is celebrated for its convenience to attractions, even as some guests note the presence of traffic noise. The amenities, including the exclusive Level lounge, receive acclaim, although the absence of complimentary water and sporadic Wi-Fi connectivity have been pointed out.
While spotless cleanliness throughout is a highlight, the value proposition is debated, with some guests finding the pricing steep, particularly for breakfast and room services. The rooms are generally lauded for their spaciousness and comfort, yet a handful of travelers have raised concerns about temperature control and dated features. Service at Meliá Berlin is frequently commended for its warmth and efficiency, despite occasional check-in hiccups.

Excellent hotel. Everything was perfect. Spacious rooms, great breakfast, ideal location.
However, avoid the City Sightseeing Hop on/off bus tickets sold by the concierge. The other companies are better - we wish we had done our research.
But cannot fault the hotel, a very enjoyable stay.

Our stay was first class - we spent 6 nights here in a Level Junior Suite and were delighted with our room and the hotel location. We were on the 8th floor with river views, and the hotel location across the road from the main Friedrichstrasse station was ideal. Museum Island is a 10 minute walk away as is the Brandenberg Gate. We were well pleased with our choice of a room in The Level, as this gave access to the Level Lounge where you can have a quiet breakfast with plenty of choice and in the afternoon cakes are available. From 6pm snacks are available, but on some days it was perfectly possible to dine here if you have eaten at midday. All this was included in our room rate. In addition rooms were made up early and clean towels and extra water was brought every evening with the turn down service. Really very good indeed.

This is our second stay at the Melia and it did not disappoint. We booked room only but on arrival the receptionist offered us a deal to upgrade to The Level, which we did and it was worth every Euro, this included a buffet breakfast, drinks up until 9pm and a light evening buffet. I am a Melia card holder but had never stayed on the level and it was an experience I will repeat. The hotel was aware that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and left a bottle of Fizz in our room as a present. A great break in a great city staying at a great hotel.

Having visited a Melia hotel in Lanzarote, and booked it again, we hoped that Melia Berlin would offer a similar experience. Sadly we were disappointed. The location is certainly central but being on the corner of a busy crossroads and bridge ,the room was noisy with traffic and sirens. The area around the nearby station does not feel particularly safe at night.
We booked directly with the hotel, by phone, but on arrival were told that if we wanted a double bed it was an additional 15 euros per night. We got stuck in the lift going to our room because we were not told that the lifts operate after using the room card. One lift has two sets of buttons and we used thde wrong set. When we eventually got just to the first floor we had to go back to reception and were only then told how to operate the lift. The hotel should cover up the set of buttons which don't work properly.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable but it was too hot and stuffy. There were no instructions about the air con. There was no English breakfast tea and we had to keep asking for more tiny sachets of milk.
Along with other guests we were wandering around on the first floor looking for the breakfast room as reception did not tell us that it can only be reached by a second lift. The tables in the breakfast room are uncomfortably close together.
We had a free drink at the bar with part of our booking but we were surprised that this was limited to just red or white wine.

Dear Madam, Thank you for the time taken to share your experience of staying with us. We're glad to hear that you found the room clean and the bed comfortable, as we strive to offer a restful room experience. However, it seems we fell short of expectations regarding the noise and certain amenities. Our hotel is indeed located in a vibrant area of the city, and we provide double-glazing and earplugs to ensure a peaceful rest. For future visits, do consider our quieter interior rooms for a more serene environment. We regret to hear about your experience with the lift and the confusion upon arrival; our goal is to provide a seamless experience, and we'll look into ways to better communicate our lift operations to guests. Your comments about the air conditioning and the need for more clear instructions are noted, and we appreciate your input on the breakfast setup and the bar service. The entire team really hope we can welcome you back on a future occasion. Kindest regards, Guest Experience Team

Room size was ok .On entry to room a very stale smell . Bathroom shower / bath brown mold around bath and on shower screen , tiolet old looks as if urine is still in tiolet after flush . There was no freshness about the bathroom or bedroom. No water in room , when I ask about water in room I was told I can drink the tap water , is water bottle is only cater fir upper level. Stayed 3 nights Hotel class themselves as 5 star , 3 star more like it ,, breakfast not impressed. I am not sure Melia Berlin caters for all customers or it's just for Chinese customers. . Would never stay at a Melia hotel again..

Dear Mrs. Ann P., Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your stay at Melia Berlin. I sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations, and I appreciate your honest input. I will immediately address this with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure these matters are rectified. Regarding the water in the room, I understand your disappointment. We stayed here between Christmas and New Years with my mother in law (separate room) and my husband and son (2). When we arrived, despite being after check in time, our room was not ready, they provided us some drinks for the wait. After waiting over an hour, we were still told to wait. We eventually were given a room, but this was not the room we had booked, as we had booked for a bath for our toddler, and none of the baby facilities we had booked were ready. MIL's room had an interlocking door, and upon arrival to her room, this was still unlocked! We were not the room next door! We were also told that only MIL's room had breakfast included, despite all being on the same booking and being sure we had booked it. We chose to eat there once because of this, as the breakfast add on was expensive... On checkout we were informed we actually DID have breakfast included!! When the problems were rectified, this hotel was in a great location, and staff (other than on initial check in) were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good (but expensive), and I probably would stay again, because apart from the starting hiccup, the hotel was lovely.

I stayed in Melia Berlin over Easter with my 13 year old son and we really enjoyed our visit. The hotel is in a brilliant location about 5 minutes walk from the Friedrichstrasse train station and about 20 minutes walk from Unter den Linden underground and 30 minutes from the Brandenberg gate area. I would highly recommend upgrading to a premium river view room- beautiful sunsets and boats sailing up and down the river. As a single mum, I particularly appreciated the security in place in this hotel - you can’t use the lifts without a keycard. Breakfast had an excellent choice even for a fussy teenager and the staff were very friendly. There are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance and a great steakhouse ‘The Blockhouse’ just up the street. We will definitely stay in Melia Berlin again - we loved it!

My first visit to this Melia hotel was more than 10 years ago. Yes, you can tell that in some places. But one thing first: a hotel is always a microcosm of different languages and cultures and this is also reflected in the staff structure. But they all had one thing in common: extreme friendliness, helpfulness and attentiveness! A big compliment for that.
Since I was in the hotel for several days, I took advantage of the special service and was able to have breakfast separately and smaller meals were offered in the afternoon. Definitely recommended if you still have a lot of work to do.
Due to the location of the hotel, the size of the room and the comfort, the hotel is still recommended, even if some of the furnishings are already showing their age and need to be replaced or renewed.

Another great stay at a Melia hotel, first time staying in the Level, and definitely won’t be our last. Always appreciate the thoughtful touches like personal welcome notes and snacks as a Gold Melia rewards member and turndown service with chocolates.
Stayed in a Junior Suite in the Level. Room was well appointed, spacious. The room was a bit old school compared to other Melia properties we have visited, but that did not detract from the overall experience.
Large, spacious room huge balcony. Bathroom was immaculately clean and appreciated the separate shower and bath, as well as separate toilet. Bathroom had Rituals including conditioner which is often missed even in decent hotels.
The Level lounge (which included a great breakfast and coffee/soft drinks throughout the day and wine/beer/spirits and a good canapé/snack selection in the evening) was definitely worth the uplift. The staff were friendly, efficient and very proactive in their service. The lounge had an exclusive feel, and made for a more peaceful/relaxed breakfast, compared to the busier breakfasts we have had at other Melia properties.
Location wise, the tram, U-bahn and S-bahn are all pretty much on the doorstep, so ideal both for travelling with luggage from the airport and as a base for getting around Berlin.
Would definitely recommend the hotel, and we will definitely be back on our next Berlin trip

in the former east Berlin, next to the U bahn and the S bahn of friedrichstrasse and the tram stop the hotel could not be better connected by public transport, the museum island is a 5 min. walk. from our junior suite on the 8th floor with lounge, large bathroom with both shower and bath and bidet, double balcony on the street and the station below, you could also see the river sprea. several restaurants (not excellent) nearby, but many shops and supermarkets. daily room cleaning on request. great breakfast in the space called 'the level' on the 7th floor, very quiet and overlooking the river. multiethnic staff, many Spaniards, as the melià chain is just Spanish, all friendly and efficient. the young porter (we had a lot of luggage) instead a bit muffled and of little help. very expensive, albeit elegant, the tapas bar located on the ground floor. unfortunately we found very high / very high prices due to the concurrence of the last matches of the European football championship. I hope that the hotel offers cheaper rates at other times, as I would like to return. in a nutshell unbeatable location in the large and somewhat confusing Berlin.
