The apartments were too basic with so much opportunity for improvement. Although the living space was huge the bathroom was tiny and the bedrooms were extremely bright as soon as the sun came up. We also had a problem with flies in our apartment. The apartments are way too expensive for what you get and the biggest sore point was...

Brandenburger Tor U/S Bahn station 5 min walk. Mall of Berlin, 7 minutes then walk 5 mins through that and it's Potzdammer Platz. Couldn't be better placed. Very spacious for 4, be OK for 6. As well as a fully equipped separate kitchen, there was a kettle, toaster, filter coffee maker and washing machine. A nice additional touch was a...

I have just spent the weekend here with my boyfriend and two other couples and was so pleasantly surprised! We booked the apartments through booking.com and the reviews were very good however, last week I checked trip advisor and was very disappointed with the reviews and photos and it made us all very apprehensive as to what the place would...

On 19th December 2016 I stayed here for a 3 night stay in a duplex apartment with my family. I was made to pay a 500€ deposit and when we vacated the property on 22nd December, I was emailed to say that the full deposit would be refunded. To be honest, the 500€ deposit was completely excessive given the state...

We stayed at one of the apartments am Brandenburger Tor during the change of the year 2016-2017. The apartment was spacious, clean and bright, but most of all, the location is the main attraction of this place. The Jewish Memorial Monument, Brandenburger Tor, Mall of Berlin are within 3 minutes (or less) walking distance. Unlike the apartment itself, the entrée...

I will start with the location first. Brandenburger Tor gate is less than 5 minute slow walk. there you can get the U and S ban trains sit for a morning coffee and breakfast.5 minutes to the other direction you can reach the Mall of Berlin this is so important to be in the center of things. as for the...

Came here with 6 other friends and we're easily & comfortably accommodated, the apartment was very clean. I've never been in a better location anywhere with several attractions a couple of minutes away. Only criticism is that we couldn't get the wifi to work but wasn't a big deal as there was free wifi everywhere in Berlin.

As others have said, this is a great location, close to a number of the key sights and within walking distance of many. There's a nice Italian restaurant just downstairs (and a few others that we didn't try). It is furnished, quite sparsely, from Ikea mostly, so is functional rather than luxurious. The wifi was good. Despite the location, it...

Let me start by saying that I very rarely give bad reviews because I thoroughly research where I am staying. We went here for new year. I am going to start with the good points Great location - you are really close to the Brandenberg gate and everything else is within a short walking distance. Lots of restaurant and a...

I have given an average rating as the office is not clearly marked and a bit hard to find. The reception people were quite helpful however and helped us print boarding passes for the next leg of our journey. The entrance to the apartments is unassuming. Lights in the stairwells are hard to find and walking up or down in...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
