My friend and I got a twin room with bathroom for 3 nights in this hostel. The service was great, the towels and sheets were clean and the room cleaned every day. The location of this hostel is superb, it is a walking distance away from most touristic attractions and very close to the underground. The hostel also offers a...

If you are looking for a bit of fun not only in the city but also inside of a hostel this is the right place for you! Very funny owner Matt is not a regular guy, he is playing electrial guitar in the coridor, giving very funny tips and having very interesting conversation with a guest..only if you want that...

Stayed in the 8 bed dorm. Room was small but by no means too small. Did see a private room that was tiny though! Lockers did not lock and as room door was never closed this definitely proved a safety concern. Room was reasonably clean and bathrooms were cleaned once a day. There were not enough plugs in room and...

Easterner hostel was a really nice place, basic but clean and comfy beds. I would come back! :---) The manager was great and gave us all the information you could possibly need (and more!). Location was walking-ish-distance to everything in the touristy bits.

I stayed here as a solo female traveller in a 4 bed dorm and felt very safe. I never met any of the staff, but they were very helpful over the phone. I wanted to leave before check out opened at 10:00 so I was able just to leave my money under my pillow. The location was really good, about...

This was my first hostel experience in Europe and I expected this hostel to be sociable but it's not really designed to be. You would have to really take the initiative. I stayed in the 8-bed mixed dorm and it was mostly couples. Pros: -Very small hostel. Only 1 floor. -Clean, hot showers -There is 1 desktop PC available to...

I took my husband to Berlin for his birthday and i chose this hostel just because we were in a low budget. I booked private double room with shared bathroom but when we arrived Tim told us he gave us a room with private bathroom with no extra charges. He also gave us a map and plenty of recommendations to...

The hostel is well located to either walk (25 minutes) to Brandenburg gate, or take public transport. There are many places to eat near-by, with a couple of super markets within 2-3 minutes walk. The hostel was clean and well stocked to do your own cooking. The staff member (Tim) was exceptionally friendly and informed us of a free walking...

We stayed there with my boyfriend for a couple of nights in an ensuite. Room was clean and the staff was very helpful but the walls were very thin and it was quite noisy. The private bathroom could have been improved with a set of mini shampoo/ shower gel. The room was very small. Location is pretty good - 20...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

“If internet connection matters to you-pick rooms in the main building where reception is. (although rooms in the main building have windows towards street and not backyard like the ones with bad internet connection and not ). Sorry, i dont know the numbers for rooms in main building or second building. ask the owner about that. Spare rooms are kind of small but still nice.”
