Just completed our second stay here. Not too much to add to the previous reviews: Got a rate of less than 35 EUR a night under the current BOGO sceme ICH is running. So value for money was virtually unbeatable. Room was very clean and...More
Typical Holiday Inn, which is not a bad thing as you know you are going to get a clean well run establishment with standard sized room and facilities for 3* hotel and this does all those things efficiently. Usual continental breakfast nothing to write about...More
We stayed here on a short 2 night break in Berlin. We travelled with an 8 year old. We booked directly with a hotel and received a reasonable rate for 3 of us (double bed, and sofa bed for the child) which also included continental...More
I stayed with my wife at the Holiday Inn Express Berlin Center for two nights at the end of January 2008. We found an excellent rate of 49 euros/room, breakfast included. I can just say that we were extremely happy with our stay! Everything was...More
I recently stayed at this hotel for 5 nights.
This hotel is great value for Berlin. The rooms were modern, clean and good sized for an European 3 star hotel. As a single, they will always give you a twin or double. Unlike many European...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today
you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.

It's just down the street from the Topography of Terror and the museum- the whole block was SS HQ (but hotel is on the opposite side of the street) and Potsdamer Platz is a little farther up. I know it's confusing — we walked a bit before we were able to find it but once you get oriented, it's a good location.

I would advise you to download the German Trains app "DB Navigator" app, this is a great app in so much it will give you live merto service and which platform to use.
Once you come out of the station, head towards the old ruins of the former station, then look for the green Holiday Inn Express sign, its not far from the station
This is a great hotel for loacl sight seeing
