My experience with this "hotel" was far from pleasant. They do not look as they appear on their website. The location is run down and extremely far from everything to do, see and experience in Berlin. There is one bathroom that the whole hotel has to share with one shower!! The shower door does not even have a lock on...

This "hotel" was a very poor choice. Where to begin.. It's NOT good value at €60 a night. The room was absolutely nothing like what is shown in images on the website. The double room we booked was smaller than expected, with awkwardly placed furniture taking up most of the floorspace. We expected 2 beds and there was a third...

We have been treated in pretty rude way at the reception. Not that the receptionist didn't want to help us, but he didn't even want to listen. Moreover, the information on the website about the prices and services is not corresponding the reality. In short- I wouldn't recommend this place to any one.

Young couple from Serbia, stayed in Sickinger Hof for four days in January 2009 - the hotel is a great solution if you're coming to spend most of the time walking around Berlin and need a place to stash your stuff, sleep and have a shower and breakfast. The people working in the hotel are all very pleasant and helpful,...

I booked a double room with a shower - got one without. The staff said they could do nothing about it, but didn't even apologize. The room was so small that it was clautrophobic. The photos on their website don't show the reality. Breakfast was the same for the four days that I stayed there - and I mean THE...

There is no good reason to stay at this hotel. It's miles out of the city centre in a run-down area, next to a four lane main road and a rail intersection. We thought we'd got a bargain but we were wrong. We got to the front desk and could see the hotel was shabby and in a state of...

Since this was our 3rd trip to Berlin, we needed a room for one night. We made reservations for this hotel through the Venere website. Hotel cost was 50 Euros with an additional 5 Euros for use of the hotel parking lot. Since some of the rooms don't have bathrooms, we reserved a room with a bathroom. Furthermore, we specified...

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
