Wonderful hotel with history. Whether business trip or family holiday, at the Hotel am Steinplatz I can always relax well in the rooms or arrange my work dates. The rooms are stylish and tastefully decorated, the beds invite you to relax. Breakfast captivates with many regional specialities. I particularly like the hazelnut spread machine, which allows guests to grind their own spread from hazelnuts and Belgian chocolate.
The staff, whether in the hotel business, in the restaurant or in the bar, are always very friendly, helpful and courteous.
The central location near the train station Zoo, Kantstrasse or Ku’damm and Savignyplatz invites you to stroll, shop, eat and linger.
Renovated years ago, yet still almost like new. Nice little wellness area on the upper floor with some cardio equipment and two saunas. Between sauna sessions you can get some fresh air on a small terrace. Many hotels have unfortunately put the sauna area in the basement, where fresh air is scarce. Absolute plus point at Steinplatz!

For about 5 years now (pandemic excepted), I have chosen to stay at Am Steinplatz whenever I visit Berlin - usually about four times annually. Over the last two decades, I have tried numerous hotels in various parts of the city, but Am Steinplatz stands out as my favourite. I really love staying there and unlike some hotels, it seems to get better each time. It offers a cozy, boutique hotel experience that is relaxing and welcoming, unlike the impersonal vibe of large hotel chains. And yet you can enjoy the benefits of the Marriott Bonvoy programme. The staff are consistently excellent, and the management is very receptive to feedback. A comment about things that might be improved has been actioned by the next time you visit. If only other service businesses were so customer focused! The rooms are lovely, located in a quiet area of Charlottenburg within a historic building. The beds are incredibly comfortable with top-notch linens, and the bathrooms are thoughtfully designed and well-equipped. There are lots of public transport options within a short walk. But what makes Am Steinplatz stand out from the crowd (not just in Berlin, but across Europe), is the incredible quality of the staff and management - a fundamental ingredient in it's special formula.

I have been staying at Am Steinplatz for several years, each time I visit Berlin (about 4 times a year). Over 20 years or so, I have stayed in a variety of different hotels in different areas of Berlin. Am Steinplatz has become my go-to choice in Berlin because it feels like ‘home from home’, with a boutique hotel feel (rather than an anonymous big chain), consistently excellent staff and a management team who respond well to constructive feedback, nice rooms, a good and quiet location in the West End and an interesting historic building. The beds are very comfortable, with high quality bed linen, and the bathrooms are well laid out and equipped. The rooms have everything you need, whether for a business trip or for a leisure trip.

Nestled in the heart of the charming Charlottenburg district, the Am Steinplatz hotel is a true art deco gem. As soon as you walk through the doors of this establishment, you are enveloped by a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The spacious and elegant rooms invite you to relax, with luxurious bathrooms that are sure to impress you. The comfort of this hotel matches its breathtaking beauty!
The welcome is always attentive and friendly, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The staff is at your disposal to meet all your needs and make your stay unforgettable. The area around the hotel is peaceful, with plenty of parking available, unlike the hotel parking which can be a little difficult to find. But don't worry, once you discover this hidden place, you will be able to fully enjoy your stay in this magnificent hotel.

The hospitality at Hotel am Steinplatz is absolutely wonderful. From arrival to checkout, everything was seamless.
I was in Berlin for a couple of nights for work. When I checked in at the Hotel am Steinplatz, the staff member at the front desk (I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name) immediately offered a glass of water. I received a room upgrade due to my Bonvoy gold status, which I truly appreciated.
When I arrived in my room, a gift of a gin cocktail was waiting for me. The room was spacious, clean, and modern; I was a big fan of the decor throughout the hotel. The ample storage space in my room was a bonus. I also enjoyed how quiet it was. I didn’t notice any noises from the hallway or adjacent rooms.
The staff struck a great balance between respecting my space and privacy while being accommodating and responsive to my (basic—or dumb, to be honest!) questions. I couldn’t find a hair dryer in my room, and so I called guest services to request one. The staff member who picked up my call kindly noted that a hair dryer was already in a drawer in the bathroom. I’m guessing that this must have been the hundredth time she had to answer this question from guests, but she was patient and understanding.
My room rate included breakfast, which was excellent. The hot and cold buffet items were high quality, and it was a treat to have the option to order one item from the menu. When I went to breakfast on my second morning in Berlin, the breakfast attendant remembered my room number and coffee order from the previous day—amazing attention to detail!
The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood with lots of eateries and shops. Trains and public transport are less than a five-minute walk away.
My stay in Berlin was very brief, and so I hope to return to explore more of the city. On my next trip to Berlin, I absolutely plan on staying at the Hotel am Steinplatz again. Danke schön!

We have stayed at the Hotel am Steinplatz at least a dozen times over the years and have never been disappointed. Apart from the perfect location, we always like the original 1920s ambience and the fantastic breakfast buffet with a focus on high-quality regional products. And of course, not to forget the always extremely friendly and professional service in the restaurant, rooms and at reception.
On this visit, Sinan in particular went above and beyond in the restaurant: When we casually told him at breakfast that the Darjeeling tasted really great and asked him about the supplier, he not only gave us immediate and competent information. He even made sure that when we returned to our room, we were surprised with a 250g pack of exactly these teas, garnished with delicious almond biscuits and a very nicely written message. Great gift! That's what we really call a highly motivated employee!

I really enjoyed my stay here, right from the reception, to my room and to the restaurant. I was so lucky to meet genuinely kind souls in this hotel. The reception team (including Maria, Dominik, Anne and many others) were such gems.
My room was always neatly done. The lady responsible for this at some point bought me screen cleansing towelettes when she noticed that my laptop screen needed a wipe. So kind of her. One in a million.
At the restaurant, I experienced delightful hospitality. A slightly tall Dutch lady in her 20's really demonstrated her passion for her job and I was always looking forward to meeting her everyday. Her colleagues were also very kind and hospitable. Can't forget about the nice chefs too. They make the best fried eggs for breakfast.
I have to commend the manager for leading such a great team.
I look forward to staying here again when I return to Berlin.

We enjoyed a short stay at the hotel while in town for the Berlin Marathon. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, and happy to answer any questions we had with useful information. Breakfast was included with our room; the selection was outstanding and included specialty coffee. We also enjoyed dinner at the bar. The location is close to great shopping and dining as well. Lovely stay!

This hotel was beautiful, the room was very posh. Bed was so comfortable and I loved that the toilet/small sink were separated from the bath and vanity. It’s one of the nicest rooms I’ve stayed in. The gym was great, bonus for me it even had a peloton bike. Breakfast was amazing! The bar was closed one of the nights we stayed when it was scheduled to be open which was a small annoyance. On Mondays the restaurant is closed so we ordered off the bar menu and I had the grilled Gouda sandwich, would not recommend…I’m not sure if it was just an odd night but nothing about that sandwich was good. The staff was great and the two complaints weren’t enough of an issue to make this less than a five star review,

+++Overall good stay there. Nice building, up to date decoration. Well situated , not so far the public transportation and some good restaurants. Correct breakfast buffet. Overall clean.
- - - Very small and outdated fitness room. Staff uniforms at the restaurant could be a bit more smart (basket? colored socks?, … that doesn’t match with the hotel’ style). Probably due To Covid situation Staff was very limited with nobody at the front desk upon our check out … that make us a bit Skeptical about the service nivel for a 5* hotel. Also seems that the hotel applies cost cutting on room’s amenities …bathroom is empty and almost all is upon request: individual shoes shine, shower cap, sewing kit, … all those small touches that make the difference between 4 and 5* hotel…

Dear Niko690, Thank You for staying in Hotel am Steinplatz and taking the time to review our property! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and really appreciate your constructive comments. The feedback from our guests is what gives us the impulse to get better! The reason why we do not have certain items available in the rooms is due to Health and Safety regulations taken by our company, for being amenities with little turn over. We hope to slowly change this regulations in the course of 2022 if the situation allows. I am sorry to hear there was no one at the desk when you checked out but this would have been a very short or spontaneous absence. Our Reception is 24hr in operation and this has not changed during the pandemic. We do hope to welcome you to Hotel am Steinplatz in the near future. Till then, safe travels!

I am not sure to be honest, I did not get there by car. But I saw a few people with a car. There are very few parking spots in front of the house, otherwise I guesd it is valet parking
No. It is pure old fashioned carnivore.
