Nestled near Alexanderplatz, the Premier Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz hotel is lauded for its prime location and easy access to public transportation, a perk that many guests adore for simplifying their sightseeing endeavors. The modern atmosphere and comfortable rooms are well-received, although a few guests liken the ambiance to a love motel. Detailed Reviews
The hotel is brand new and has that new smell, the staff are the normal Premier inn welcoming, but at times a little inept and service, i.e. servicing the rooms is erratic.
The location is a 5 minute walk from Alex platz S&U bahn station and if your bags are heavy, there’s a Tram stop even closer. You are 10 minutes walk from Museum Island and 30 minutes walk from the Brandenburg Gate, and of course, with it being so close to Alex Platz, linked to anywhere in Berlin by the fantastic transport system.
If you’re a UK fan of the Premier Inn ‘Luxury Hypnos beds’ bed and the good night’s sleep promise you may be a little disappointed, we had 2 single beds which are much narrower than the UK equivalent and are nowhere near as firm, but are comfortable. Add to this the air-con was either ineffective, inefficient or on some sort of weird timer, in the blistering hot Berlin summer’s, this will be a problem
Another disappointment for UK Premier Inn regulars is the “all you can eat” breakfast, the statement is true, but just boiled & scrambled eggs, ‘kleiner’ wurst & streaky bacon, there are fruit salads, cereals, plain yogurt, a small selection of cheeses and meats, bread & pastry’s. The breakfast is adequate, but at €12.50 doesn’t equate to the UK equivalent and isn’t as good ‘value for money’ to be frank, you can do better at Alex Platz Bahnhoff for less.
Room serviceing? We made use of the in room tea & coffee facilities, but our cups were never replaced ‘clean’ there were always residue at the bottom of the cups, this could be a dishwasher issue, but a little attention to detail is required. The used tea, coffee, sugar & milk were never replaced, we constantly had to visit reception to ask for replenishments. Everyday we hung up our towels for re-use, one day, they were taken away and not replaced. Another trip to reception and trying to get the very pleasant gentleman, whose neither English or German was not great, to understand that room service had not replaced the towels was a challenge.
This takes me back to check in, where in my best German, I explained who we were and we wanted a room as high as possible, the lady didn’t understand, and I assumed that my pronunciation & grammar had let me down, again, but it turns out that she is ‘just learning German and can we speak English!
I wonder & worry if Premier Inn are going for the (P&O model) cheapest labour option, whilst both the staff mentioned were pleasant, their efficiency could have been greater, and do not compare to UK staff.
In summary for £400 for 4 nights B&B I’d say it was overpriced, would I stay here again? Unlikely, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
One final disappointment… the staff had never heard of ‘Sir Lenny Henry’

We stayed here for a weekend visit to Berlin. The staff is helpful and speak English and the hotel and room were clean.
We had a corner room with large windows so had a view of a church on one side and could see down a long street on the other. We enjoyed the views.
When the windows were open the street noise was noticeable, but with windows closed and air conditioning on, it was quiet. The room has a tv, air conditioning, safe and blow dryer, but no refrigerator.
It is a two minute walk to the Klosterstrasse subway. It is a 15 minute walk to the tv tower and a 20 minute walk to the Berliner Dom.
For breakfast we received a paper sack with a sandwich, fruit juice box, yogurt, apple and banana.
The air conditioning and wifi worked great! We paid 18€ a night for parking. They provided hand sanitizer at the entrance. Masks should be worn in the lobby and dining area.

Average at best. I had to ask for my bedsheets to be changed: even though they had made the bed they didn’t change the sheets. Asked for the bedsheets to be changed, they weren’t, and then when I asked again a few hours later I was told that the housekeeping team had gone home and it wasn’t going to be possible that night. When speaking to the staff about this they were very apologetic and offered me a free breakfast.
They didn’t refill the toilet paper and I was left without any, cooked breakfast was subpar, coffee and tea station in the room was extremely dusty even after they had cleaned the room. No sugar in coffee and tea station in the room. Half of the tv channels not working. In the bar, there is no cooked food available, despite it being advertised on the website and on the information on the tv in the rooms. The wifi worked on and off on both of my devices I was using it on.
Staff also serve customers at the bar preferentially.
For the price, it is not worth it. On the other hand, staff were friendly and location is central which is ideal.

When we checked in at the first room we found that the mobile phone of my wife did not get any internet connection in the room (once the room door was open the connection was o.k.. After we changed the room the internet connection between the hotel Wifi and my wife's mobile phone was working (we also had a much better view ...) but the TV had no signal. After several unsuccessful complaints we realized that the room perhaps had a general internet problem as during our seven days stay we had no TV at all. When I tried to write a review using the hotels internet adress the virus scanner of my notebook warned me about a Trojaner if the connection is activated and refused to open it. By the way: The hotel has only an open internet connection so my virus scanner warned my about an "unsafe connection" so I refused to use the internet of the hotel and used for my mobile phone my mobile connection instead of Wifi. The room was quite small for two persons, quite clean, but once we got a stinky towel (afterwards it was replaced by two small towels). The location is great (very central), the price is fair for the

Me and my partner have just returned from our trip in Berlin where we stayed at the Premier inn Alexanderplatz. The hotel is in a great location, around a 5 minutes walk from the train station, which was handy for being able to get around Berlin. We had a fantastic view from our hotel room of the fernsehturm - we were located on the 6th floor and this gave us a good view.
We arrived about an hour before check in and our room was ready which was great. The staff on the desk were lovely upon checking in and checking out, we had a late flight and staff kept hold of our luggage for us, allowing us to enjoy our last day in Berlin without carrying cases about!
Our room was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. The air conditioning was amazing and just what we needed after being out in the heat all day. The shower was a lot better than normal hotel showers, and was easy to adjust the temperature if needed. Our bed was comfortable - we did have two single duvets for our double bed which sometimes was a pain but overall only a small issue.
Overall we would definitely return here if we went back to Berlin, and I would recommend staying here to anyone!

I was expecting something more from a brand new hotel!
We arrived around midnight after a long delayed flight and we went through a terrible check in. The guy at the reception was clearly new and he did not know what to do, he blocked our reservation and so we had to wait for 20 mins. At this point we asked him if there was any restaurant open at that time, so in the meanwhile we could go to eat something. He gave us some directions to Alexanderplatz where there should have been some restaurant open at that time. So we left the luggage to him, which he tagged but did not stored. We got ready and we went to Alexanderplatz but there was no restaurant open, so we decided to go back to the hotel and order something to be delivered. During our walk back started raining and we did not have any umbrella. When we came back, our luggage where still in the reception with no team member around, anyone could come in and take our suitcases. When the receptionist saw us he asked us if the 20 mins were over and id the reservation was unblocked, something that he should know as he is behind the reception checking the reservations. Anyway, after all this, he started the check in process but he did not know what to do so he asked some help to his colleague which was flirting to a girl in the reception. After he came, they tried to go through the reception but apparently they did not know how to charge my card and after different attempts they decided to charge my card manually without any authorisation. So finally after one hour we got the key for our room, but they did not tel us which room was and we went guessing. Once we got in our room, we decided to order some food on just eat and after 20 mins the found the driver outside the door and this made me think that anyone can get in without any authorisation from the staff. I work in a hotel of the same chain in London and my night team is trained not to let anyone go to the rooms without been told from the guests themselves. Anyway, while waiting for the food, we were staying in the room and we found dust everywhere, dirty towels and leftover things from the previous guests.
The day after we went out for the day and when we came back we found our room made up, which we really appreciated but the new towels they put were dirty as well.
The next day, we went out to visit the city and when we came back late in the night we realised that some food was missing in the room and we thought that the housekeepers or someone from the staff ate it or threw it.
The next day, we decided to have breakfast at the hotel so we had time to organise the trip of the day. We paid 12.50 euros each for a disappointing breakfast. There was nothing left, even if it was 9.30 and the breakfast finished at 10.30. We asked for more pastries and the guy in the buffet area said that he was replenishing all the items missing, but in an entire hour nothing was replenished and we ended up eating a pretzel with some jam. When we finished we went to the reception to speak with a manager to report all the issues we had during our stay and he said that he would have taken care about it.
Apart from all this, the location is good, very central and you can go around the city very easily. Rooms are brand new, but definitely they need to be deep cleaned. Night team at the reception need a proper training.

Just out of the centre few minutes walk from bar and shops. The hotel is very clean and modern staff very helpful can’t say anything bad about it. Breakfast was very poor all cold meats and cheese and the the checking out tax is poor.

Stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend to visit Berlin, the hotel is well located in Alexanderplatz which is in the city centre. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the train station, easily accessed from the airport.
Recommend the City Sightseeing bus tour for seeing the city, there is a stop just round the corner from the hotel by xfit.
The hotel is the usual good standard.

Stayed 3 nights here and everything was great from check in to check out. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped and nice to have a kettle etc ,could have done with a few more milk tea etc but better some than none. The bathroom was also great and well equipped although as with previous reviews the opaque door was a bit weird. Ok for us as a couple but if 2 friends were sharing not so sure about privacy. The food and drinks are a bit overpriced but what do you expect in a city centre hotel . What we did have was good. Location of the hotel you can’t beat-close to U and S bahn, trams, hop on buses and even within easy walking distance of a lot of sights but it’s not a noisy hotel either. Definitely would stay again and would recommend to others.

Check in was a strange process - we first arrived (early) and a lovely Cuban receptionist took our bags to the storage area so we could go off for the day (it was sooo hot in Berlin but bless her she wanted it hotter!). When we came back later, there was a grumpy chap with glasses who could barely acknowledge our presence when serving us - i think perhaps he thought we were something on his shoe… we couldn’t have been more polite! Our room still wasn’t ready even though it was check in time. We sat and were then informed that it was ready. He just about told us the required check in info and sent us off to our room without any explanation of why he kept talking to other people instead of us or even a smile - I have a feeling he may be in a management position but hopefully not on the customer service side. We had limited German but at least we were trying! When we arrived to the room, there were staff still in it checking it which wasn’t a problem as they were very polite and just doing their job. The room was clean and perfectly set up for us (missing a towel but that was soon sorted). Beds were comfy as always.
The location was great for catching the S bahn and hop on and off Bus tours and there is a Billa shop just around the corner for food/snacks and a corner shop on the edge of the building that has cold wine and beer. We even used a laundrette 6mins walk away which was great and cheap. On check out the two night staff chaps were sweet.
