The 32 dorm is indeed 4 separate 8-bed dorm room behind a main door, so it is quite nice indeed. And the staff are friendly and helpful. My string lock is not functioning so I have to break it by force. The staff are so helpful in finding me the right tool!

We had a 4 beds room. The whole hostel is very clean; each floor has 3 male and 3 female bathrooms, which are cleaned regularly. The rooms are pretty spacious, but some beds missed desirable things, such as a lamp or a good amount of power sockets. The hostel staff is kind and could provide us every information we needed...

I stayed here for 2 nights on my very first trip to Berlin! My friend and I booked two beds in a 4 person dorm with an ensuite. It was very reasonable and clean. The room was spacious and secure, you had to use your swipe card 3 times between the reception and the room! Breakfast was an additional 5...

Great hostel, in a bit of a quiet, random location but is very social. Has a nice bar with tonnes of seating where it was very easy for a solo traveller such as myself to meet other travellers. Accomodation is pretty good, rooms are large and modern, bathrooms and showers are average, the shower button needs a refresh hit every...

Rooms are fairly basic - but what you'd expect from a hostel. Our room was fairly large (6 sleeper room) with a big bright window. Toilets and showers are communal, so I'd try and get a room near to one. The beds were not the most comfortable, but I still managed to sleep fairly well. The room was clean, had...

We stayed in heart of gold for 3 nights and found it to be a great hostel. The security was really good, we felt very safe here compared with other hostels. It has a modern design, bar with great atmosphere, beer garden, Internet access. It was clean. Within walking distance to the centre. Would recommend!

Me and my friend stayed in a two bed room with a shower (which was a little bit awkward cause the shower door was clear and we are close but not THAT close). The shower did a great job, the room was spacious and bright with two very comfy beds. We didn't get any aches or pains from sleeping on...

Would absolutely recommend and return to this hostel. It has a very sociable environment, so great for solo travellers, including a 24/7 bar/lounge area with a pool table and tvs and an outdoor deck area. The rooms were neat and comfortable as were the bathrooms. Location was great, about 10 minutes on public transport to Alexanderplatz, but also a 10...

Really near the river so it was easy to walk to Aleksanderplatz and the Brandenburg gate, also near the museums. You get free towels so thats a big plus. Wifi connection was good in the room (not all hostels have that quality). sometimes there wasn't any toilet paper in the shared bathroom.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
