My first experience with hostels and I am glad Baxpax Kreuzberg was my choice. Of course, I chose as it was near place where tango-festivals were held, but hostel is really good. I liked service and design, it is located near the U-BAHN, so it was easy to find it and to get anywhere in town. Loads of small restaurants...

The room was private however the decor was horrible, it was a London themed room but the room was clean and quite, the hostel is right next to the metro line which is very good and wasn't too expensive. No breakfast was provided at all which I found a huge draw back as the shops were closed for a bank...

We booked Baxpax Kreuzberg as my partner has stayed here previously and recommended it. However Baxpax Kreuzberg no longer exists!! Which we found out upon arriving to the location of Baxpax hostel (as per the directions in the booking confirmation and advertised on hostelworld) we found a sign saying to press buzzer which we did repeatedly with no response. Luckily...

Nice overall. Shower did not have cold water and the toilets were cloaked every day. Besides that people were cool, some of them were too loud during sleep time. Beds are comfortable but don't have privacy curtains.

I first visited this hostel in April 2016. Overall, the rooms were clean, great facilities, cheap prices and well-located. However, there were two incidents which put me off staying there again for a very very long time. I asked the employee in question at the desk one evening if he knew where the nearest place was to get street food....

I've been traveling for three months and this is, hands down, the worst hostel i've stayed in. If you're considering staying here, i would advise you to instead bax pax your bags and run for the hills. The beds are creaky, the bathrooms are grotty, the receptionist is the most apathetic being i've ever met and the establishment reeks of...

This hostel is fine if you want to stay in Berlin just for few nights, not much longer. It is cheap, stuff is friendly basically great deal for lowcost trips. Big plus is metro station right next to the hostel.

This hostel has a really laid back atmosphere, the staff were really nice - made jokes with us, turned the music up when we were up late in the reception area, gave great recommendations. Don't know if it's a Berlin thing or it's unique to this hostel but we met loads of really great and fun people that we ended...

The Hostel in terms of security, location and infrastructure totally surpassed the expectations I had for the price, because it was very cheap if you were staying in the dorms, I thought it was decently cleaned, and Kreuzberg was a blast. Nonetheless, I thought there was a lack of hostel vibe and nice people, starting from the staff... not very...

Really cool and chilled. Good Berlin tunes playing in the common area. Perfect location. Only downsides were the lack of a socialising scene and lack of plug sockets in the rooms. Otherwise, I would still recommend staying here. My Berlin experience was amazing.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
