Spent 4 nights here in mid December. The exterior is not very exciting but upon entering you will find a very comfortable and welcoming hotel with extremely friendly and efficient staff. The bedroom was very well appointed if a little in need of bathroom tiling repairs. We were at the back of the hotel and there was no noise whatsoever....

Hi, I have stayed at this hotel quite a few time for work, and also privately over weekend. We even booked our conference here, so I know my opinion reflect 25 other as well. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are great, and whole. The meeting rooms where best so far (survey confirmed it completely) . Breakfast and food...

My favourite hotel in Berlin that I have been faithful to since my first visit sometime in 2005. On a couple of recent trips to Berlin I was booked into hotels other than the Movenpick that had more stars but definitely less soul and they just made me want to return to the Movenpick. I originally chose Movenpick for history:...

The moevnpick Amsterdam is one of my favorite hotels to stay at, so when i went to berlin, it seemed the obvious choice. While berlin is not exactly a walking city, the movenpick is in an excellent location walking distance from a lot of great places. I walked to checkpoint charlie, The topography of terror museum (ss headquarters), museum island...

This hotel is not in the very center of the city but within easy reach to everywhere. Everything is reasonable there - rooms are quite spacious, breakfasts are very good, the staff is helpfull. The reception area is big but a littie bit gloomy. If you travel on business, it's a good choice. If it is for pleasure, something more...

Stayed 3 nights while in Berlin on a city break. Thought the hotel was excellent value - we had two rooms between three of us and both were really spacious, especially the bathrooms. Nice modern design - liked the funky colour lights with the room numbers on them. Breakfast wasn't included so we only had breakfast in the hotel one...

I only stayed one evening at the Movenpick and have some pro's and con's + The rooms are quite nicely set up and didn't feel sterile like many large hotels The building is old and charming Helpful staff The bar looked good, only stuck my head in though - No WIFI - expect this as a basic service in such...

Clean and spacious hotel. Rooms light and airy. En suite shower fantastic. On site gym and sauna but of limited use. Bar has a large selection of cocktails and beers. Breakfast a good varied choice. Only negative was the WiFi price, considering the price of the room would of expected a free limited option.

Stayed at this hotel in October, 2011. The location is good (not excellent), but right beside an S-bahn station. Hotel itself was nicely furnished, clean, and very reasonable for nightly rates - restaurant there has a poor menu and is incredibly expensive. Wonderful meals can be had elsewhere within a 10 minute walking radius. Overall, though, enjoyed my stay here!

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
