I had a very bad experience with this hostel. First of all you guys need to know, that the most of guests there are students (14-16 years),which means noise, squeals and dirt. Their group leaders just don't care. All showers and toilets always occupied by those kids. Dirt is the main word I can say about this hostel. The shower...

The location of the hostel is nice. They don't have a sign from the street that shows their name, it only says hotel. The staff is unfriendly. Our room had 12 beds, 3 stacked on top of each other. My bed was at the top, really high with no rail at the side. Pretty dangerous. There are only 3 bathrooms...

The only problem I had was the WIFI was slow, however for the price you can't really complain! Also this hostel is quiet central therefore everything is a accessible on a train or...

We stayed at check in hostel for 3 nights in a shared dorm room. Bathrooms and bedding left a lot to be desired. We didn't catch any fungal infections (we think). The location was great and the staff were helpful- just no clean enough for 21st century.

We spend 3 night in this hostel. It is very close to the Check Point Charlie U-Bahn stop. The room was nice, the bathroom clean. Sometimes it was a bit noisy during the night but it is normal considering that the hostels are done for young people and for being cheap. And this one was cheap ;) The staff is...

Its ok. Its close to Check Point Charlie and the metro stop for easy transport. The staff aren't great, however they have free luggage storage. The rooms are very basic and have only a few plug sockets, so its hard for everyone to be able to charge their devices. The showers are very small and have timed water - so...

As my first stay in a hostel I was slightly worried seeing as we would be staying in a room with 4 strangers but me and my 3 friends were pleasantly surprised when we got there. Very central with a 5 minute walk from Kochstraße U-Bahn station and right by Checkpoint Charlie. Check in staff are friendly and allowed us...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
