We stayed three nights at the Almodovar as part of a month-long tour around Germany. Although it was not as convenient in terms of location as other well-reviewed hotels in Berlin, we chose to stay here based on its eco credentials and vegan-friendliness. The hotel is in a nice area for tourists, away from the city centre but easily reached...

We stayed in the Penthouse Suite up on the 5th floor & the room was amazing, with its' own sauna which we used a few times on our 4 night stay. All the staff were extremely professional & spoke excellent English. The service at the evening meal was a bit too fussy & formal for us, but the food itself...

The concept is nice and original. The food is excellent, and there is a lot of vegan food available. The staff is kind and helping. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The lights in the corridor switch off automatically when there's nobody anymore. The rented bikes are ok. But there's one bad point according to me (some may not...

The room was lovely, the staff were very polite and for us it was in a perfect location. We were a bit disappointed the spa was fairly expensive but it didn't bother us as we had so many other things to do. We had a brilliant time staying in this hotel and would definitely come back.

The Almodovar is in a great location - it is between the city centre and Schonefeld airport so it doesn't take long to do the transfers on the S9. There are plenty of nice places to eat and drink within walking distance of the hotel. The staff are friendly, the rooms spacious and clean. Neither of us are vegetarians but...

Quite oasis with an astonishing, fresh and beautifully arranged vegan (and smaller) breakfast buffet. Lovely touches like herbal tea on check in, and blacked out lights on the TV to aid sleep. The area has some great places to eat, especially for barista coffee or plant-based food. The hotel is close (5-7 mins) to a main station, with easy connections...

this hotel was stunning- from its elegant reception area to the huge apartment room we stayed in. The staff were lovely, and the hotel is a short but lovely walk from Ostkreuze station, from where it is easy to access all areas and sights in Berlin. The area itself is fabulous too- lots of cafes and bars, and close to...

The only problem I have with it is that the breakfast is TOO GOOD. It took me a few minutes each morning to leave it and go see Berlin. The room was nice and comfortable and you even have a yoga mat in it!

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
