The Mandala Hotel boasts a stylish and serene atmosphere with spacious, modern rooms that have won over many guests. While the hotel's cleanliness and high standards are frequently called out, opinions on service are mixed—some guests encounter exceptional staff, whereas others face inattentiveness. Nestled in the prime location of Potsdamer Platz, the hotel offers convenience to public transport and local attractions. Although praised for its amenities, including kitchenettes and a luxurious spa, some travelers consider the pricing for dining and extra services steep.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at The Mandala Hotel. Our stay was for 12 nights over the Christmas and New Years holidays and we were accommodated most comfortably in one of the suite rooms. The service was spot on and the room worked out well for our stay. My wife particularly enjoyed the walk in closet. The morning breakfast buffet was a perfect way to start the day. The location in Potsdamer Platz was ideal for the sights and activities we enjoyed in Berlin. We would recommend the hotel to our friends should they want to vacation in Berlin.

A very clean and gracious space with comfortable rooms and reliable service. I wish there were more communal spaces as the hotel feels very slim in that arena. The restaurant, quite high-end, offers a wonderful breakfast as well as dinner service though is quite expensive. Some sort of additional offering would be nice. The rooms were very spacious and housekeeping was attentive and detailed. A wonderful option if your travels take you to central Berlin.

I stayed here in February with my 17 year old son. We stayed for 4 nights.
The hotel staff on reception were extremely helpful, and in particular, the gentleman there on the night we arrived. The additional bed we needed for my son hadn't been put in the room, so he came and put that in for us, and gave us the loan of a plug adapter.
The kitchenette in the room really helped. Prices are quite high in Berlin and in the hotel, so getting some cereals in for breakfast instead of paying Euro30 per person for breakfast each day helped to keep costs down.
The hotel doesn't mind you ordering in dinner either, so we went with uber eats a few nights after a long day of sightseeing.
Covid restrictions were tight in Berlin everywhere you go. FFP2 masks required in a lot of places, which I happily found the hotel could sell to me for a small charge.
Also, negative tests were needed for my son for entry in some Berlin attractions. This felt a bit stressful at first, but the hotel staff kindly directed me to a portable testing site 2 streets away, where once registered we could walk up, get a test and the results were sent to us within half an hour.
The hotel is very central for getting to to the major attractions. There aren't many corner shops but the mall is a few minutes walk and there is a very low priced Aldi in there to get provisions. I also recommend the curryworst from the food hall.
Overall good service, very expensive to eat or drink in the hotel, good location.
Unfortunately they don't have any rooms with single beds, so we had to get in a camp bed in the room for my son, which made the room a bit full and it was a small bed relative to my almost 6 foot 17 year old son.
The bathroom was massive! Nice big bath too.
TV, despite having hundreds of channels, had only one English speaking channel, which was the news.

I spent 4 weeks there. Located in the heart of Mitte, just next to Potsdamer Platz.
I had a huge room with a very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The room is well-equipped and has almost everything you need to live and work (including the kitchen). The hotel offers gym and SPA which I used frequently 😊 Staff is helpful and extremely friendly and they cause that you fell good there.
This is pet-friendly hotel which is a big plus (I’ve seen a lot of dogs and cats there) but despite you pay extra 30 EUR per day for your pet you still need to pay if your cat accidentally pukes on the carpet (150 EUR)
In general I recommend this hotel because it is great but this cleaning fee was very unpleasant surprise.

This is the third time we stay at the Mandala hotel over the last 7 years and unfortunately is it not as good as it used to be. We had high expectations which only partly where met.

ONO Spa: Absolutely fantastic!

Facil Restaurant: We only had breakfast there, but it was a delight as usually. My compliment to the managers who set the top standard. Best hotel breakfast in Berlin?

QIU Bar: Has potential but when one of the staff continuously cough in his hand and continues to mix drinks did I lose my appetite of the drink. The staff continuously needed to check drink recipe of standard drinks, isn’t there a designated trained bartender? This should be better in a 5* Hotel as Mandala

Rooms: Large nice rooms with a small Pantry kitchenette. The cleaning was ok, but not more. We ordered bath salt from the iPad, but after an hour, we got a bottle of water instead. The major incident was when our kid found 2-pack condoms in his bed, obviously lost by the cleaning staff. This should not happen in a 5* Hotel as Mandala

Checkout: We had to review the bill together with the staff, as there where several items we had not ordered on the bill of about 40€ in total. It was instantly removed, but it should not have happened in a 5* Hotel as Mandala in the first place.

So, to summarize, the Mandala is still one of the best hotels in Berlin, but they clearly got several items to work on and out next Berlin trip will probably be to another 5* hotel.

We stayed for one night during a business visit to Berlin. Arriving by car, we had identified a convenient underground parking with direct access to the hotel. A pity that, like half the german autobanhs, the garage was under some major renovation and the signposting to the Mandala not very effective. We ended up dragging up our luggage three stories to street level and across a sidestreet to the hotel entrance. Reception staf were friendly. Room turned out to be roomy, modern en spotless. The one thing we would suggest to make it even better would be a Nespresso machine rather than the instant coffee provided. We had dinner at the Facil restaurant in the hotel. Food was top notch, as were the wine advice and service. A very pleasant evening indeed! We slept fine in a comfortable bed.
Breakfast the next morning was a disappointment: though served in the same restaurant Facil, it would have had no chance competing with even a very modest B&B. The omelettes we ordered had nothing to do with the thick, soft, fluffy dish that one expects, but were flat, thin, tasteless pancake-like things
Rolls were dry and not very tasteful, and the fruitsalad looked and tasted like it came straight out of a tin. The only thing that scored points was an excellent croissant. All in all, a good hotel, with excellent dining, let down by a very poor breakfast of which the price was the only characteristic reminding one of 5 stars.

The Mandala is swanky and sophisticated and is located within walking distance of all the major sites and great shopping. Our room was spacious and bright, quiet and comfortable, and had a nice terrace to relax on in nice weather. The bathroom was large and had a big tub which is necessary since my husband is an above the knee amputee and bathes instead of showers. While my criticisms are not deal breakers, I wanted to mention them here for the hotel’s information. First, there are no USB ports. I would have expected a modern and upscale hotel like the Mandala to have these. We brought one international converter to charge my husband’s prosthetic leg. We needed to ask to borrow one from the hotel to charge our electronics. The shower/ bathtub had shampoo/body wash attached to the wall accessible for those showering. However, it was out of reach for my husband while bathing and couldn’t be removed from the wall to be placed within his reach. I had to ask for soap to leave on the side of the tub. Also, there were no washcloths in the room so I needed to ask for those as well. There are lights the guests can use to indicate do not disturb or to service the room. The first day, we indicated when we left for the day that we wanted the room serviced. We came back about 6 hours later and the room had not been cleaned yet. We asked if it could be cleaned when we went out for dinner and were told it was too late. The next two days, we indicated do not disturb and both days the housekeeper rang the doorbell to clean. Clearly, the housekeeping staff does not heed the indicator lights outside of each room. Would I stay here again, yes. And would I recommend the hotel to others, absolutely. It really is lovely but, as noted, just a few minor tweaks would make it even better.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your kind words about your stay at THE MANDALA HOTEL. We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel so much. Your praise of the quiet atmosphere in our hotel delights us exceedingly. One of our most important goals is to establish a peaceful environment in the heart of Berlin in which our guests can fully reenergize after a tiring day. As our hotel is in a constant state of optimization and modernization, your advice on the USB ports is much appreciated as well and we are always happy to receive suggestions through which we can improve ourselves. The fact that our cleaning service was so deficient bothers us deeply. It is important for us that our service work functions impeccably. We will train our staff again to prevent such complications. It was our great pleasure being your hosts and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in Berlin soon. Kind regards, Your THE MANDALA Team

The hotel is amazing and has a great location. However, if you are curious to try its breakfast, you will pay 30€ per person per night, no breakfast is worthy to pay that amount. Around you will find local restaurants and a the mall of Berlin, where you will have breakfast or lunch for a fair price.

The hotel is centrally located at Potsdamer Platz with restaurants, shopping centers, bus and subway very close at hand. Garage is under the hotel.

The hotel has a small lobby with very professional reception staff. The rooms are large and nice, even in the lower room categories. Bonus that there is a kitchenette with hob, fridge, sink etc. If you need to borrow pans etc., the hotel staff will arrange it. On some floors there is also a laundry room that can be borrowed free of charge.

Since there are a number of tall buildings around, it is not certain that the rooms always have the best view. Our room faced the Sony Center and had a perfectly fine view. The rooms are fairly soundproof, so you don't hear much of the traffic.

The room had everything you would expect: Large bathroom, TV, safe, large walk-in closet, kitchenette, desk and chair, armchair and footstool, etc.

The breakfast restaurant is an experience in itself with its sky-high level of service. There are not many tables here, but the staff solves this anyway. The breakfast buffet includes cold dishes and cold drinks. Coffee and tea are served at the table and orders for hot egg dishes, pancakes etc. are also taken there. The hot food was exceptionally good and fully adapted to the guest's wishes. Dishes are quickly removed from the table by the service-oriented staff.

The hotel's location also makes it possible to reach the central city and sights such as the Brandenburg Gate and Unter den Linden within walking distance.

A very nice hotel that is highly recommended!
