I stayed here one night on business. It was a short walk from the natural history museum and I found this to be a very cosy place to stay, it is well connected by transit and is within walking distance to several nice restaurants. They don't have Ethernet in the room and the wifi access is a bit spotty but...

Loved this place-very homey, good breakfast, helpful staff. Set us up with excellent restaurants, walkable from hotel. Loved the honor bar-we stayed 4 nights-and would return. The East Berlin neighborhood is evolving into great restaurants, galleries, and very safe to walk at night. Room was large, for the two of us, and our third friend had a lovely single. All...

A charming and stylish independent hotel. It is formed from a number of adjacent buidings that I guess were large houses from the late Victorian period. The conversion is very sensitive and the decorations and furniture very well chosen. Our only problem were some noisy floorboards that made it difficult for us to move around the room quietly. The restaurant of...

This boutique hotel is a great place to stay in Berlin. We walked everywhere from here: northeast by 15 minutes to the Berlin Wall Memorial; 20 minutes south to Unterderlinden and other famous destination. The hotel is old--no hallway goes straight and the door to our room was about 6' but beautifully updated. The room was full of antiques, overlooked...

We have nothing but praise for the Honigmond Hotel. We were given clear instructions about how to get from Tegel Airport to the hotel using the bus and U bahn. The staff were very welcoming and generous, offering us an apartment for our stay. They gave helpful advice whenever we asked. The apartment was spacious, with elegant decor and all...

Was there for one night, with late arrival. No food, no bar, no nothing, but reception was nice enough to help me with a take away. Got into the double room. It had one blanket and terrible pillows worn out, dirty something you would have thrown out a long time ago. The bed was super uncomfortable. I had booked a...

5 points all the way! This is really a great place to stay in Berlin-Mitte. I don't easily give 5 points, but Honigmond Hotel deserves them. Works well for inter-generational trips - I was there with older and younger relatives and we all loved it. Quiet but central location, well-maintained building, lovely rooms with antique feel (old furniture and classic...

Honigmond is a lovely and stylish little place hidden in busy Berlin. The garden is marvellous although depending on the weather of course. We took one of the garden cottages as we were travelling with a little baby so we had more space and freedom. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. The location is not super-central...

Went there for lunch - turns out there's only a buffet! However, the the food was decent (and unlimited!) and it included dessert - various cakes and jelly beans - all for 7.60 euro. The gluhwein was tasty (and strong) - so all in all a great lunch! Worth making the trip slightly out of the centre to get there.

Arrived as usual straight off the plane and struck by the pleasant interior and interesting reception which is made up of copies of famous paintings. Check in was simple and swift and the only confusion was where breakfast was to be had and the bar. Simple there is no ba it's a large fridge with an honesty policy in reception...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
