Absolutely wonderful hotel! The hotel staff were very friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Their hospitality began before we had even arrived, by assisting us, via email, with details of the best way to get from the airport to the hotel. We chose to take the train and then walk from the train station to the hotel as it was only...

Great hotel in the heart of the city in Berlin. Really great lobby with free coffee and tea all day. Staff was exceptional and polite. My room was very small but kind of fun that way. I'm from the US so I'm not used to such a small room. It was very clean with plenty of electrical outlets. The bathroom...

This hotel might not be located in the middle of the hustle and bustle in Berlin. On the contrary, it's on a very quiet street, yet a relatively short walk from several train/subway stations and from Friedrichstraße. The interior is fabulous, grand, old style with high ceilings, satin wallpapers and plaster stuccos, right up my alley. Staff was very attentive...

We have just returned from a three-night stay in this quirky (in a nice way), centrally-located hotel. Recommend by Lonely Planet as a mid-range priced accommodation, the hotel is situated in a quiet street within easy walking distance (20 minutes) of some of the city's most-visited attractions. The building is a communist-era tenement block, but the lower three floors have...

We stayed a couple of years ago in a studio the Garden hotel, this year in Honigmond itself. Hard to choose, both are excellent, with its own (dis)advantages. If the weather is nice, the garden hotel is nice, more places to sit outside. We also sat in the garden of Honigmond, but were all alone there. Would there be more...

Centrally located with lovely, quirky rooms. A very good, small German hotel. Good staff. Excellent coffee downstairs. Good breakfast at cafe next door. Good transportation connections to landmarks and other neighborhoods. If you want to be in MITTE and don't want a bland business hotel - this is an excellence choice.

The Honigmond is close to transportation and within easy walking distance to many of the places on must-see lists. We are traveling with our adult daughter, and it is tricky finding hotel space for three but here we have a huge third-floor apartment that includes two bedrooms, a living room, small kitchen and nice bathroom. We opted to have breakfast...

Lovely and spacious apartment on the 3rd floor (elevator takes you only to the 2nd). The apartment has 2 bedrooms, an elegant dining-living area and a small kitchen (fridge and sink, but no dishwasher). The 100 year old building has been renovated and decorated very nicely. The street is quiet. The neighborhood offers good restaurants, nice shops, galleries, etc. The...

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time there. Our room (No.1) overlooked the garden and was really quiet & relaxing. Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
