I have now stayed at this hotel 4 times, twice under old ownership. Aspects are still good. But its young staff, although well-meaning, is incompetent. And it is undergoing extensive and needed renovation. Sadly after 4 nights in the hotel, I got back exhausted at 11pm and was told I had to change rooms that night. The fact I would...

The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. We didn't try the breakfast since we thought it was overpriced. The only negative remark is that the hotel charged us the total amount the first day, as a safety deposit. They never explained it to us so it was not a nice surprise. The wifi was very bad in the...

I stay 150+ nights abroad for work. I chose this hotel as it markets itself using the Expedia VIP program - which they dont recognize or honor. They have a complimentary mini bar in room but the refrigerator does not work so they offer complimentary hot beer and soda. There were no light bulbs in my bedside lamp. One elevator...

Pro's: Room was very comfortable, Reception people were excellent, great location, quite. Con's: Both elevators were not working, hotel seemed very under staffed and unorganized, late breakfast was a nightmare everyday, mini bar had 1 beer and did not work.

The hotel was full and since they have mostly single rooms with a bed size 120cm they decided to book those rooms as "king size double room". Naturally two adults cannot sleep in such a small bed. We all complained (three couples) and the receptionist all could say is "Management decided" and "I will check with management".... So our vacation...

We stayed there for 6 nights and it was just great. Very good service and kind staff, especially housekeepers. Clean and cozy room. I like the way they thought "Free Drinks" mini fridge in the room. Big and rotatable tv with free movies is also a nice touch. The hotel's area (Augsburger street) is very quiet and peaceful, but if...

Arriving to the hotel we had a surprise to realize that the it's under reconstruction works. As we didn't book directly at the hotel but via another company, we were told by the reception lady that it was up to this company to informe us. We couldn't park our car in the hotel's parking, there was no more place (you...

The Dormero is in a great location, on a quiet, tree-lined street just three blocks from Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzienstrasse, the busy and iconic area of former West Berlin. There's also a subway stop just around the corner. You can actually find parking sometimes on this street, which is otherwise a big problem in this part of Berlin, because few drivers...

Spend 2 nights there. Checkin was a bit delayed and chaotic because of one staff member was trying to manage simultaneously our check-in, the unhappy guest apparently checked in before us and a couple wanting to check out... but at the end managed well to everyones satisfaction. It is a modern building within a nice old exterior facade, our room...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
How can you resist a city that is 24/7 full of things worth seeing, flavors and sounds? In which everything is on the move, in which new things are constantly developed and others discovered. This is the challenge we accepted when we created the first Black Label among the DORMERO Hotels in the capital city Berlin. The DORMERO Hotel Berlin Ku’damm, located just a few meters from the famous boulevard “Kurfurstendamm”, is like the city itself – a balance between classical and modern design, trend and mainstream, globetrotter and fashionista. The boutique hotel is a fantastic blend of originality and contrast, tuned to the color black. Daring individualism in form and style, addressing the guest’s individual needs. With the Black Label, the previously Bohemian architecture was shaped into an unconventional frame redefining the traditional concept of the hotel. A hotspot in Berlin with unique and constantly changing experiences worth not only seeing, but above all experiencing live. The DORMERO Hotel Berlin Ku’damm has 72 rooms of three different categories ready for you. A perfect combination of design, individuality and minimalist style. For all those who need enough freedom to act out their stay in Berlin also behind closed doors. Some may feel it is a break in style, we think it is mystical and appealing. Feel as if you were at a secret place in the midst of the urban jungle. Enjoy the quiet location of the rooms and the view into the illuminated patio along with the technical features and the absolute sleeping comfort with all your senses. ... more   less
