My fiancé and I stayed here for two nights on a b&b basis during a city break to Berlin last month. The Hotel is located right by Berlin zoo with easy access to the train station and tram/ubahn. The Hotel itself is great with a reasonably priced bar. The rooms are very spacious with the most fantastic view of Berlin...

Yes, it's a rather old hotel and it doen't have the most scenic outside (matter of taste). Yet the rooms we had were very clean, well equipped and quiet (to the rear). The staff did surprise us with a (not standard in Berlin) very warm, flexibel and helpful service. Add to it that you are right downtown only five walking...

The location is great. I walked about ten mins from Berlin Zoo main station (direct train to SXF airport) to get to the hotel. Lots of restaurants within a few mins walk away. The reception area is typical of a business hotel. A small bar, large check in desk and some seating. Staff - rude. Very unwelcoming. Only Anna helped...

I have stayed in the Hotel Sylter Hof for three nights. My institution covered the costs before my coming including accommodation costs plus three breakfast. On the day of my leaving of the hotel I had to catch the flight and could not make it to come to the breakfast. I have asked on the reception desk if they could...

Very good hotel for trip to Berlin. We were 2 adults and 1 child (4 years) for 3 days in Berlin. Hotel was perfect for such trip-location closed to main attractions, shopping streets and metro, bus nr. 100 (goes to Alexanderplatz, Branderburger tor etc.) even stops directly by the hotel and goes every 5-10 minutes. Hotel is very good managed-staff...

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and once again I was well satisfied with the standard and the price. My single room was not huge but adequate enough and the free wi-fi was excellent (floor 3). Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The no.100 bus running from the Zoo bus station right past most of the major...

We stayed for 2 nights, October. Staff was nice and friendly, but the wifi connection was annoying with all the log-ins and terrible signal at our room. I ended up spending couple hours in the doorway, the only spot where the wifi worked... Beds were amazing and room was spacious, but our bathroom was a little smelly..:/ Overall a good...

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
