We stayed one night at the Allegra during our weekend stay in Berlin. The best thing about the hotel was the location as you are not far from the main Berlin train station, Brandenburg Gate and other attractions. The Spree is only a few steps away and has numerous riverside restaurants that are very nice and romantic. This alone makes...

Dear Rich T, thank you very much for taking the time to write this positive review. Thank you for pointing out the immensely convenient location of the Allegra close to a lot of Berlin’s most important and beautiful sights and attractions. You are right that the hotel rooms of Hotel Allegra are rather plain and basic. Nevertheless, as of December...

This is a basic three-star hotel with hostel like rooms and Japanese-sized bathrooms. I am used to staying in slightly more upmarket places so it's important to keep this in mind when you read my review. The room is cleaned on a daily basis with fresh towels provided. The rooms themselves are not particularly small and the bed is quite...

Dear mbaas, thank you very much for taking the time to write this helpful review. Thank you for mentioning our kind and attentive staff, the simple but bright and big rooms and the perfect location of our Hotel Allegra. As of the beginning of December there will be extensive reconstruction works at the hotel. So the outdated tv sets will...

This is a typical European 3-star hotel - rooms are small but comfortable. Basic needs there, comfortable beds, fresh towels every day, comfortable duvet, small desk and small TV. Buffet breakfast is excellent - typical fare of selection of deli meats, cheeses, fresh German bread, various raw veggies; plus, hot food: scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, meat (wonderful German patty sausage...

Dear SilverTraveler, thank you so much for your extensive review and for taking the time to write it. I am aware that there have been some troubles with our Wi-Fi for the last couple of months at Hotel Allegra. But I can assure you we are about to improve since we want to meet our usual high standards that apply...

I call it so clean and nice hotel with all friendly staffs. I stayed for two nights and I really enjoyed the accommodation, you feel refreshed entering room and it is the first place in my upcoming visit to Berlin to be booked! From the aspect of price, it is reasonable and worthy!

I was lucky to get a last minute 51% off discount on this hotel via booking.com otherwise it might be a bit pricey, however the place is worth it. The hotel is located less than 200 meters away from Friedrichstraße metro station, in a very nice area of the city, also is easy to just walk from there to the...

Dear Vanessa L, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to write your kind review. I have to agree, it can be a bit confusing that the two hotels opposite to each other, Hotel Allegra and Hotel Albrechtshof, share one reception. But that is because they belong to the same hotel group (Albrechtshof Hotels).
Thank you...

The hotel was very basic but the staff was awesome and the breakfast was nice. The hotel was close to a lot of sightseeing. The only may be weird thing about the hotel is that you have to check in across the street the sister hotel, but other than that it's fine.

Stayed here for 5 nights in December 2015 with my wife and 1.5 year old daughter. Our first room didn't have a bath and immediately the staff moved us to a room with a bath. They also sent a team of 3 to assemble a travel cot (baby bed) for our daughter. The room was basic but clean and everything...

Online they show the hotel as a 4 star or 4.5 star. This is really a 2 star hotel and we were terribly disappointed especially considering it was expensive and advertised as 4 star. The Hotel Allegra is situated a stone's throw from Friedrichstrabe and all of the shopping, entertainment and bars/ cafes/restaurants in the area, not to mention a short walk from many of the tourist must-sees! Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
