The "bathroom" is open into the bedroom, giving next to no privacy - only a curtain gives the illusion of it. We had some problems changing our reservation, where we were meet with quite som hostility. We were promised a change in reservation, with an extra additional 15€, which we gladly accepted. But when we arrived at the hotel, they...

Stayed here for 3 nights. Arrived early and left bags at check in for a small fee so we could walk round the city. Check in easy and staff speak variety of languages. The bar and Spagas restaurant which we used was very clean, service excellent as well as drink prices reasonable. We had breakfast included for this area an...

Stayed here a few years ago and remembered it as having a fab location. It's a very busy hotel with lots going on in it. The rooms are not that big and the bathroom is weird, with a see through door from the bedroom. Shower area very small. Staff very efficient. Bar a bit anonymous but typical of any large...

Stayed here for 5 nights on a first time trip to Berlin. Location was brilliant - plenty of shopping, restaurants and bars around Alexanderplatz plus the Easter market was just outside the front entrance which probably added to the area's atmosphere. We got the RB14 train from Shonefeld airport (€3.40 per person); quick transfer at Ostbahnhof to Alexanderplatz et voila;...

The best thing about this hotel is the location: right in front of Alexanderplatz. Everything is nearby. The hygiene was average, clean at first sight but the table and phone were kind of covered in dust. The room was nice looking. If you want a view of the TV tower you have to pay 15 euro's extra per night, which...

Booked 3 rooms here for my husband and our parents for a city trip based on it being rated as a 4.5 star!!! It's NOT! We are totally disappointed and I wish we had spent our money wisely elsewhere! It's no better that a Travelodge or Premiere Inn and yet three times the price! We are paying £82.50 per room...

Quite a nice hotel, very busy, we were on the 32nd floor but the rooms are so small you have to climb over your suitcase evry time you move. Nice shower and bathroom - although small. Food in the buffet is OK BUT the plates are always cold. Good location though and easy to find as it is so tall

It's in a great location and worth paying for a room with a view. We could see the Riechstag, Tiergarten and obviously the TV Tower. The breakfast is great. The room was a little bizarre with frosted glass shower next to the frosted glass toilet! The rooms were like a sauna at night. Called and they came while out leaving...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
