We travelled as a couple. Derag's staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Room was nice and very clean. Comfortable beds and lovely sheets and blankets. Breakfast maybe not excellent but good and everything was really fresh: warm buns and croissants etc. Tasty coffee. Location was great; about 100 meters to U-bahn. Super hotel!

I was just in Berlin for a conference. I stayed here because of its promixity to the Federal Foreign Office, but I am really happy that the conference organizers helped me pick this place. There are some constructions in this area, but the hotel is really good. I had a room on the 7th floor. I really like the room....

it is the 5th time I have stayed here and it never lets me down. The location and staff are excellent and the small but thoughtful inclusion of a few bottles of beer after a long days walking is a stroke of genius... The metro (U2) is across the road and the bus stop (No147) is just a 100m away...

Great hotel. Modern but with a more traditional feel than some of the faceless corporate ones you can stay in. Comfy beds and well laid out rooms. Free water and bottled beer in the room which is a nice touch. Situated directly opposite the metro station on the U2 line.

The hotel is located not far from Museum Island and Brandenburg Gate (about 20 minutes). The room is big enough, nice decorated, with a big closet. They offer for free 1 water and 1 beer per person per day and also free accces to gym and sauna. The breakfast was nice, varied, with salted and sweet products, coffee, tea, milk.The...

You can't fault the location of this place, straight out of the U-Bahn stop at Märkiches Museum (U2 Line). It is a short walk to Museum Island and Alexanderplatz. The room itself was fairly large with a small kitchenette and a free bottle of beer and water each every day. The bed was comfortable but the decor was dated with...

Dear guest, we kindly thank you for taking your time to rate and review our hotel. We are happy you liked our central location and free minibar service. But we are sorry you did not like our interior design. Maybe you will like our Hotel Grosser Kurfuerst straight across the street better!? Here the interior is more modern. We would...

+ Location, location, location: The subway station is just around the corner, with the U2 line being probably Berlin's most "central" subway line that can take you almost anywhere. + Mini-bar's out and complimentary beverages are in - a refreshing move that does make you feel welcome. + Beautifully ornamented rooms and interior - you can never go wrong with...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
