It's a fair few years since I stayed in a hotel, preferring to stay in self-catering accommodation. Due to the legislation against letting apartments in Berlin, we decided to stay in a hotel, and what a treat it was to stay at the Hotel Hansablick! We were a party of four; my partner and me, my brother-in-law, and my German...

Don't be put off by the outside of this hotel. It is lovely inside with walls covered with modern art and good furnishings. Our room was large, with high ceilings and very clean. Helpful staff and close to rail links into centre of Berlin (2.80 single ticket), only a ten minute trip. Cool restaurant by station.

I found the hotel more or less by accident because I was looking to combine search criteria as close to my meetings, easy access to S-Bahn and reasonable price. I found this hotel close to Tiergarten station in a very quiet street. In this area there are a number of student dormitories. The hotel is in a fin de siècle...

I love this quaint little hotel. It seems like a friendly family business. Staff is extremely friendly and sincere. Breakfast buffet is standard, but a really tasteful spread. I visited during a really hot spell in Berlin/Germany/Europe, and the fact that rooms are not equipped with aircon made it a bit stuffy. But clearly this was not normal weather. Decor...

We had a large comfortable room with a view of the River Spree. The food was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Car parking was on the street outside the hotel and was free. We didn't use the car whilst we were there because a 20 minute walk through the Tiergarten brought us into the city centre...

Rooms were on the bottom floor with little air circulation options but we left our window & hall door open for a bit. Bar was convenient & outdoor balcony a plus. Walking to town thru park was ok but lots of homeless and litter. We had locked a helmet to a motorcycle but it was stolen overnight. A drag but...

The room was a good size with a table and chairs in the room we had. The room was clean and serviced daily and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was well situated, quiet and close to public transport to the town centre so a good base for a visit to Berlin The only negative was the ease...

excellent location, friendly staff, spacious comfortable room and a relaxed atmosphere. the hotel is in a quiet leafy residential district close to Tiergarten train station. the hotel is not so large and is an historic building thus has character. the atmosphere is somewhat arty, a combination of modern at the same time old fashioned

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
