We stayed Herr for two nights in September for the Berlin Marathon.

Very friendly staff, good kitchen facilities and the rooms were clean. We shared an 8 bed dorm which had a cupboard to store your bags and a decent ensuite with a hairdryer.

I stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms were clean. The environment was quiet. The location is not very close to the city center but easy access to nearby S-bahn and U-bahn station. It was a pleasant stay overall.

You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life
has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
