Good location and nice hotel. Breakfast covered anything you could possibly want and was delicious. Rooms were usual standard, our only problem was that we requested an upgraded business class room with king bed as it was our wedding anniversary only to get twin beds pushed together! Hotel was full so they could not move us, housekeeping joined the bed...

It was our second stay at this fabulous hotel, and again we were lucky to get a room with a view overlooking the street Karl Liebknecht Strasse. I like to be able to step outside to get some fresh air, and the narrow balcony was just perfect I November. Last time, in summer, we had a bigger one with a...

My son and I stayed in this hotel for a late birthday, pre Christmas break. We chose it because of the location and of course the amazing aquarium in the lobby!! We arrived early and went to ask if we could leave our cases but were told we could check in if we wanted to and if we didn't mind...

Very nice hotel in a great location, however, those who like a soft bed will not be able to sleep. i struggled to get a decent nights sleep in a 4 days i was there, but i do like a soft bed. the bar was lovely, if not a little expensive, but the christmas markets supplied us with sufficient drink....

This hotel is in a great location. Close to all the main attractions in Central Berlin. Rooms are good sized and service is very good. And of course there is a spectacular fish tank in the foyer. On the negative side, the beds are like concrete slabs, the internet is unreliable and the restaurant is average and overpriced. I would...

Arrived early and check in straight away. Beauitful atrium - definatley go for the room with the view over the aquarium, we were not distrupted in the night by reception/bar. The bar lacks atmosphere which is to be expected in a more business like hotel. Breakfast was more than you could ever want, pretty much everything was on offer. Perfect...

I usually prefer to stay in the more run down parts of the city, but my girlfriend wanted to stay somewhere a little more central. This was a good hotel which offered all the usual amenties one would expect. The balcony view into the lobby and fish tank were a really pleasant distraction from the freezing chaos outside. They had...

After a three night stay here in June 2013 I can definitely call this hotel a magnificent place! Having never stayed in a Radisson hotel before, I was amazed at the top class decor and service. Our amazing double room was situated on the top floor, with a view out onto the hotel's very own aquarium, which is very quirky...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
