Near Alexander Platz but also within reach of the highlights of former West Berlin, this is a great place to see Berlin from. Hotel is fresh and modern and you can't get away from mentioning the stunning fish tank running up the atrium. There are some fabulous views over cathedral, Alexander Platz and river from here - but the hotel...

I stayed here with my partner for 4 nights in March. The hotel is stunning, the huge Aqua Dom in the middle is a sight you won't get anywhere else!! The location is great, very central. The cathedral, TV tower and Museum island are only a 5 min walk away!! Alexanderplatz train station is only a 5-10 minute walk away...

I took my Wife here for a long weekend and we were both made welcome. It can be a little expensive but the service given is beyond reproace. And we would both stay here again. The hotel is easily within walking distance of most of the msin attraction like the brandenberg gate and check point charlie. One great feature is...

We spent three nights here to celebrate a 40th. The hotel itself is excellent, the fish tank being the wow factor! Check in was straight forward, even though we arrived early our room was available. The room itself was a standard room at the back (room 5121). For some reason we are never offered an upgrade! The room was very...

Firstly, let's get the obvious out of the way - this hotel is a very nice property in a great location. The rooms are well appointed and clean, and it has all the facilities you would expect of a top hotel in a major city. Why only 3/5? Service. It seems the staff only come in 2 categories - excellent...

Dear Melsh81, thank you for your very detailed review regarding your stay with us. I am afraid we were not able to live up all of your expectations. Magnificent room overlooking The Dome Cathedral with the river outside your balcony. Could not fault this hotel except that it set a very standard that the London failed to match over many years of trips staying Central London You won't be disappointed I guarantee

I know this is a 5 star hotel, but it was truly amazing. We only stayed for 2 nights but would recommend this to anyone who wants to have no worries while on holiday. We were given the choice to be upgraded to a king size and either the choice of river view of fish tank view. Of course we...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
