I stayed in this hotel, with my cat, during a particularly stressful period. I was having trouble with my breakdown insurance and they put me up in Hotel Tiergarten during my stay in Berlin. This hotel is beautiful! There is nothing that the staff were unable to help me with and everyone was a joy to interact with. The room...

Good and beautiful hotel with pretty good location. For restaurants you will have to take the train/metro to another part of Mitte, because we could not find nice restaurants in Alt-Moabit, but there is a metro station nearby. Very nice breakfast! Also a clean room, good bed and free WiFi. The reception staff in the evening and night did not...

Been in Berlin for 2 months now with a temporary rental as we used the time to sort out a more permanent apartment for myself, husband and 5 month old son. The hotel welcomed us in the time of immigration crises and racial tensions in Germany. We are a black family. The staff was so nice to us and I...

A nice hotel in a quiet area near the UBahn station. 3 stops to the Kur'dam area. The room was clean, though no Air Con. Only 1 standard lamp in the room, better lighting would be good. The breakfast was a very varied selection of cheeses, meats fruit & cereal with a hot option. A very nice Pauliner restaurant lies...

The welcome we received and the help and advice given was exemplary. Our room was most comfortable and the breakfast was a feast. Highly recommended. Fluent English spoken by most of reception staff/management who couldn't be more helpful.

We went to Berlin for the weekend, the hotel was nice but there was no AC in the rooms so we had to keep the windows open and the hotel is located on a very busy road so it was a little to noisy to get a good nights sleep. Breakfast buffet was good and the rooms were clean. The...

A fabulous five night stay here, very helpful and friendly staff especially Stephan and Benjamin. A spotlessly clean hotel, large room, very quiet facing the courtyard and the breakfast was more than one could eat, even chocolate and sweets at breakfast. linen and towels very soft and white. I would definitely recommend this hotel, on the main road, one minute...

We booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. Our room was charming (tall windows, high celings) with a view over the courtyard and we could not believe how quiet it was. The bus to and from Tegel Airport stops just a block away, which is very convenient. We enjoy walking, but some may find this hotel...

Stayed here one night upon arriving in Berlin as we had rented a car to drive to Munich with the next day and per Trip Advisor, it offered free parking. Indeed, the hotel had about five very good parking places which they offered for free right next door to the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our third floor...

Located on a main road and our room was on the front facing it. However, we did not experience traffic noise and enjoyed two relaxing nights sleep, possibly helped by the walking around Berlin during the day! The room allocated to us was large although I understand not all rooms are the same. The hotel is rather dated with high...

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
