Knowing the Hecker's hotel in Berlin for about 35 years it was a surprise to see the hotel today. Formerly known as Hecker's Deele hotel it was a high expectation I had while booking the trip. Arriving at the hotel was ok as the front looked modern the entrance also housing the bar area as a kind of lounge. The... More

Dear guests, thank you very much for your review - I am happy, that you experienced our reception team as extremely friendly and I will certainly forward your very positive remarks to them. I just can`t really blame them for not knowing the history of the building in details, because most of them had not even been born at the... More

Central to the Europa Centre and Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church. Stylish reception and breakfast area. Lovely Greek restaurant out and to the left. Piano bar serving cocktails opposite. Take your travel kettle if you want a tea/coffee in the room. Go for the deluxe room. Only cost us an extra 10 Euros a night and much nicer. One side has... More

We stayed here for a 3 night break and really enjoyed the hotel and its location. The staff where very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts lovely and the room more than adequate. Whilst the location was a wee bit away from the main, central locations, there are plenty of options for public transport, but we opted for the city tour... More

Dear guests, thank you very much for these very good comments. However we only would like make one little correction: we are located right in the city center just off Kurfürstendamm, which is the main shopping street in the city west. All options for public transport are only a few meters away from the hotel. Looking forward to welcoming you... More

Most hotels in the proximity of the Kurfürstendamms suffer from traffic noise either from the street itself or from the nearby suburban train line (S-Bahn); I should know, as I tried most of them... The Heckers is a rare exception, at least where it comes to the rooms facing the courtyard - there you only hear the kitchen. The hotel... More

Hotel is close to restaurants and dining, within short walking distance to the many shops. Underground station Uhlandstrasse is only a few yards away. Very nice, stylish, large room ( Toscana) with a cozy atmosphere, little walk-in closet and balcony. The hotel is ideally located and good value for money. We will be back!

Hecker's Hotel was just perfect for our first trip to Berlin. It is right next to world class shopping and wonderful restaurants. It is also an easy walk to all the important sights and museums in Berlin. Take the time to walk through the gorgeous Tiergarten on your way to Brandenburg Gate. The room was very quiet, clean, and spacious.... More

We (two couples) stayed 3 nights at Hecker's Hotel in July. The location was ideal, close to buses, and just a short walk to the S Bahn. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the people at the front desk were always helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were absolutely wonderful, lots of delicious choices, both hot and cold. Highly recommend.

Nothing to complain about. Well just one small thing: the internet is working well, but doesn't allow non-standard ports. Thus no VPN or ssh. The room is big, there is a separate walk-in wardrobe. Shower/bath. Writing desk and small table with chairs. Everything very clean and cleaned every day. Large windows on the street side. Double glass thus very little... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
