Rundown, dusty, and only single beds and single duvets even in the suites (despite having specifically booked a double). Astonishing. Like a German Fawlty Towers. Beautiful bar but the fug of cigar smoke was too thick to enter. Decent bathroom about the best I can say.

Dear guest Thank you very much for reviewing our hotel. We constantly work on improving our guests’ satisfaction; therefore, your feedback, positive or negative, helps us to see our product through the eyes of our guests and is highly valuable to us. It concerns me that not everything during your stay with us was to your fullest satisfaction. Our Savoy...

The hotel has seen better days but it is still very attractive and the staff is extremely courteous and helpful. My room was spotless and the bathtub was big enough for a battleship. I just spent the last 14 months living in tents and shipping containers working in the Middle-East so I soaked for 45 minutes before using the shower....

The hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere. I had a great room. No air-co but just windows that could open, and even a small balcony. I prefere that above air-co anytime. It was spatious, a nice table to do my work. Breakfast was very good as well.

Even if the structure of the building is not 100% refurbished, the service is perfect and the rooms are really big! Breakfast is definitely an experience you cannot miss and the location of the hotel is ideal to reach any part of Berlin

We stayed here for a weekend trip in March, and my girlfriend and I really enjoyed the rustic glamour of the hotel. The location was convenient, service was really friendly, and the rooms were spacious (not recently renovated but cozy). The only slight minus was that the noise from the S-bahn could be heard in the room, but this did...

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. All enquiry's about locations we wanted to visit were very helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. I was disappointed that there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room as we are used to this in all other hotels we have stayed in. The hotel is in an excellent location to access...

Every where in the hotel, even in our room, you could smell smoke from cigarettes and cigars and it was very very annoying. It destroyed a lot of our staying at your hotel. The hotel had a really good location.

The hotel needs to be renovated. It is very outdated in terms of materials, systems and all. It has a certain positive character and style that is very nice and good to keep. But keeping that concept it needs to be renewed in terms of interior, systems and all. Breakfast needs coffee from espresso machines, fresh orange juice and generally...

Just finished a short stay in the savoy for our first trip to Berlin. The hotel is wonderful. A warm friendly greeting upon arrival, the atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed. We stayed in 408, and the room was classy, warm and light. The bathroom was modern and perfect for us both. The location is perfect, just a short walk from...

Had a really good stay, have been staying at savoy for past few years, been going to messe show in Berlin same time of year every year, great hotel. Normally stay for 2 weeks, great breakfast. 5 min walk to europa centre, and main shopping street, metro just round corner, easy to get anywhere in Berlin from metro.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Opened in 1929, the Savoy Hotel Berlin lies just a few minutes' walk from the busy Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s famous elegant promenade. Celebrities like Maria Callas, Romy Schneider, Greta Garbo, Helmut Newton and the famous German writer Thomas Mann were regular guests. They all valued the hotel’s atmosphere and unobtrusive service. Today the Savoy is still synonymous with style, discretion and hospitality. The classical premises were refurbished in 2005 and its original features restored to their former glory. ... more   less
