I spend the night on last thursday. Good location, a few steps from Postsdamerplatz, opposite Scandic hotel but cheaper and more personnal. The welcome was very nice at front desk ; this is noticeable that all staff are specially nice and take care of customers well. The hotel is fully renewed making it brand new, very clean, with all needed...

This is a very good property in a good location close to the U Bahn and within walking distance to Checkpoint Charlie and other attractions. Short train ride to Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag, Alexander and Potsdamer Platz and the East Side Gallery. The property has very nice sized apartments with modern and comfortable fittings. The beds were very comfortable. The...

Great location, not far from Moritzplatz or Spittelmarkt making getting around the city very easy. Decent cafés nearby, but very quiet/residential. Rooms are well laid out, with comfortable beds & good bathrooms. Staff are polite, efficient and have good English, even if they politely say otherwise!

The Grimm's Hotel is a a newly renovated hotel, with a charming and special interior. We had a spacious room with a balcony. The breakfast was OK, and the staff was friendly. However, if we were returning to Berlin, we would probably choose a hotel more centrally located, in a more charming area and along a less trafficked street. But...

We were really happy of staying in that Hotel for our stay in Berlin: the location is not properly "central" but there are two U-Bahn station at 5/10 minutes walk (metro) and the hotel is very quiet. The room was clean and nice, the bathroom as well. The staff is friendly and helpful (you can buy public transport day-card at...

Location: sort of weirdly quiet residential/corporate area but close to three U-bahn stations and cool Kreuzberg. Not a lot of (decent) food options in the immediate vicinity but you don't need to venture too far afield to find more. Only a few stops from Alexanderplatz so easy to get to and from Tegel by Express Bus. Room: I was in...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
