This hostel is located in a rough part of Kreuzberg and has a difficult to locate entrance. The service was very friendly and the room we stayed in was fine. The place tries way too hard to appear hip and people who are primarily into finding Berlin's nightlife. The wifi connectivity was terrible outside of the lobby.

We had a great stay in this hostel. Positive feedback: 1.Friendly staff 2.common room where the sold beers - great for communicating with the rest of the travelers. 3. Near bars and fast foods 4. great bohemian neighborhood full of life (but watch out at night between 9-11pm. weirdly enough around 1am i felt safer) 5.Met some great people there!...

If you want a friendly, relaxed and good value place to stay in the centre of Berlin's nightlife scene, Comebackpackers hostel in the heart of Kreuzberg is the place for you. 1) Great location: within walking distance of most of Berlin's best clubs; Berghain, Tresor, Suicide Circus to name a few. Surrounded by hundreds of affordable cafes, restaurants and bars,...

This hostel is nice and clean, has a good atmosphere, and is in a really good location right near the metro and some nice places to eat. There's a good kitchen and common area and a rooftop terrace for hanging out. The WiFi was pretty bad the whole time we were there but that didn't matter too much.

Even though the hostel ticked nearly all the right boxes (affordable, decent location, draws a nice crowd, big common room) there is one thing that is too big too ignore that makes me rate this hostel 'terrible': they have a serious bed bug infestation and aren't doing anything about it. At least two of their rooms - Jenny and Ragnar...

Delicious kebab across the street, (very important haha) nice terrace, the showers are clean and nice, the beds are fairly comfy for the cheap price we paid. The staff is nice, great people there (I was the only non aussie tho haha) they have a bar with fair prices in the hostel itself so that's great. It's not too far...

Great location, friendly guests, awesome terrace and living space for chilling and hanging out, helpful and friendly staff. It's not the cleanest one I've been in but i totally didn't mind. It's a hostel that suits perfectly Berlin and it's guests. I'd stay there again.

I had read the hype only to be disappointed badly by this hostel. It is located in a vibrant African and Arab neighbourhood, where I was repeatedly offered drugs and my female companion was harrassed in front of me. Arriving at the hostel, the staff were busy on computer , smsing? and treated us rudely. Rooms had uncomfortable beds and...

Me and two friends spent 4 days here on our first trip to Berlin and we would definitely come again. It has an great homely vibe, and we were very relaxed. The rooms are basic but comfortable, even in 35 degree heat, and the bathrooms clean and functional. There is a cooking area which was great to be able to...

Not right in the city center but a great area for cheap restaurants and bars. Clean hostel, good vibes, a full kitchen and a really chill common room. Very comfortable, like hanging at a friends place. Reccomend for younger travelers.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Comebackpackers Hostel in Berlin Kreuzberg was created and is run by two friends who have travelled the world for many years. It is a hostel built by travelers for travelers. The Comebackpackers is not a Hotel-Hostel, its one of the few Hostel-Hostels in Berlin. We found a nice gap in Berlin and we changed into a place wich is now home for people away from home. The people come as guests and leave as friends. The Comebackpackers Hostel offers all comforts a backpacker needs. Beside the comfortable, well-lit and spacious bedrooms, the hostel provides a huge common room great for meeting new friends or for relaxing after a long day of sight-seeing or night of partying. There is also foosball, boardgames or a book exchange which keep you busy. The roof top terrace with a view over Kottbusstertor gives you the real Berlin Kreuzberg feeling. ... more   less
