I stayed here for 3 nights this week having read the previous reviews on this site. Overall it was an incredible stay, not least because of the great company and location of the venue. I'd been in contact with the owners, via email, and they quickly responded to my queries and arranged a check in time etc. After checking they...

The hostel is right in the middle of Schoenberg which was handy for the gay bars and restaurants. No full time staff present so you have to phone them to arrange for check in. Hostel was clean (and cleaned regularly), with small kitchen and communal area. Easy to meet other guys. I would definitely return but the pillows are woeful...

For a first time hostel experience and visit to Europe, I would recommend it to all! The hostel is situated directly in the heart of Schoneberg, the Berlin gay area, with 30+ bars/clubs in a few blocks radius, multiple grocery stores and lots of food options! You can walk to most Berlin attractions in about 30 minutes or take a...

Hello. I visit this hostel for a few days, but What I thought would be a great experience ended up in a nightmare. Apparently a boyfriend to one of the staff lives in the hostel and creates such a bad atmosphere that people were leaving the place. He is arrogant, violent, not talkative at all towards the rest of the...

Absolutely loved this place! Pretty good as a hostel itself - rooms and the area were clean, and the shower area itself was pretty decent as well. I think it all really depends on the people that happen to be there as well, which can make all the difference. I happened to meet an awesome bunch of lads who I...

For my first time in Berlin I stayed there. I met wonderful people. The price are not too high, the rooms are clean. It is located in the very nice neigborhood of Schöberg, traditional gay place. GO THERE.

My experience was far better than the reviews suggested! Fantastic location in the gay district - super close to the U-Bahn. Clean rooms and everybody I met was delightful. The manager was often around cleaning but not intruding. Will definitely stay again and for anybody reluctant to book (like I was) - go for it!!!

First hostel experience. Great location in the gay-neighbourhood Schöneberg near several bars. There are four rooms (2p, 4p, 6p, 8p). I slept in the 6p. room with a nice authentical ceiling. Waterpressure and temperature are still bad when multiple persons are using the facilities. But they are working on getting a new boiler. Beds are good but creaky, so is...

Location is awesome you are near the heart of downtown. Hostel is cozy, a really great community of backpackers they hung out every night and went clubbing, bar hopping, bath houses. You get a free drink at Toms. There is no reception so getting in was tricky. The creepy communal shower is no longer creepy they added a private shower....

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
