Amazing value- I think the three of us paid 60 euros each for two nights. We had a triple room. It was clean, convenient, and the bar down stairs was brilliant. In fact we just spent our Friday night there- with live music and cocktails we had a great time. The restaurant served really good food too. Very little choice-...

My sister and I stayed here for one night. Absolutely fantastic - from the warm-hearted friendly staff (who amazingly remembered our room number when we asked about breakfast the next morning), the dedicated every little detail in the room, the cleanliness to the design and the homey, comfort feeling. The location was literally opposite the S-Bahn station but if you...

I've stayed here a few times now and each stay confirms what I know about this place. It's excellent. However, it's not for everyone. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, up market hotel with snooty staff and expensive furniture, this is not the hotel for you. If you're looking for a fun, lively, inexpensive and quirky hotel with friendly...

Loved everything from quirky bedroom , hot showers, relaxed lounge area. Best staff I have ever encountered in hotels during my 52 years on this planet!!! Ideal location near direct train link and river transport Food fresh and very reasonably priced. I will be staying here next time in Berlin. 10 out of 10!

I have just returned from a 2 night stay in this hotel. The location is amazing right across the road from underground and tram outside the door. I stayed in a loft room and the bed was so comfy, room quiet and even though we were facing the street there was no noise. The decor in the hotel is lovely...

Last week we had our second stay in the Michelberger. It's a great hotel, great location, nice clean rooms and they serve an awesome breakfast. However we couldn't help but notice that bar and frontdesk staff have become somewhat cocky and pretentious, even unfriendly at times. I only hope Michelberger keeps the Berlin spirit up and doesn't slip the kind...

Dear Jaccoman, we are 100% on your side. This attitude is not just spirit that slips around in Amsterdam, Berlin is also widely affected with this self praising and satisfied at times arrogant attitude. But it's boring and uninteresting. With some of our new staff we are working on it every day, you might have caught some of them in...

My friend and I stayed on Michelberger for three nights on an extended weekend trip. We loved the hotel and personally, this is one of the best hotels, I've stayed at in terms of atmosphere and interior design. The interior is very original and whimsical, and there are so many funny and quirky details everywhere from the framed, crocheted vintage...

Dear Filotsky from Copenhagen, thanks much for taking your time to tell all those nice things about us. In regards to not cleaning your room from your bar glasses, this should not happen. We will let our housekeeping team know, and remind them again how important it is to focus every single day on every single room, with the love...

Location: Very convenient with S-Bahn, U-Bahn and street car stops right in front. Rooms: I opted for the "Loft room" since the price difference between that and the "Cozy room" isn't much, man am I glad I made that choice! Spacious room, massive windows, clean, cool without being pretentious. Service: Overall great service, although the staff at the reception can...

Uber cool without being pretentious, this place is a treat for the eyes and the soul and not too hard on the wallet. The Michelberger is a living design icon. The rooms house a collection of unique art hand made to tease the curiosity and to please the eye. Shredded paper light shades, walls lined with opening books, crocheted items...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
