This hostel is safe, in a great location, and clean. The only issue we had was we were seeking a better atmosphere and hoping to meet people. There isn't a bar, more of a reception/seating area with a beer fridge (cheap beer though). The atmosphere was pretty dead - everyone seemed pretty anti-social. Wouldn't stay again for that price.

I satyed in 36 rooms for 3 nights. Room was clean, you are charged extra for bed linien 2,50 per person and you need to give a caution for the key 10 euro (they give it back when you are leaving). Toilets and bathroom could be more adjusted to such a big hostel (you do not have place to change...

Seen some terrible reviews on this. Soo i was a bit worried. It is a bit rough, both the hostel and neighborhood. Once you get aclamaited it is fine. Kind of Cosy budget-rough loby with good varity of beer (2£!) and some sodas. I would recomend this to backpackers and students.

This hostel was the worst I have ever come across. Me and my partner stayed here for one night (we left straight away the next morning because it was awful). As soon as we got to the front door I was on edge, the outside of the building makes it look like a squat. (Which could have been likely). Going...

What bummed me was that they charge 2.5euro extra for bed sheets, thats ok if you have the option to skip that and bring your own. But thats not an option and they dont state that. so its kind of a scam because you should add 2.5euro to all prices. and we booked it because it was the cheapest option...

I went there to run the marathon, so. I wanted something relaxed and one to the tiergarten, so I found this hostel to be pretty comfortable and convenient to us. The rooms are always clean and well organized, bring you own lock to secure your things, not that we had problems but it's better to be safe. You can cook...

We were lucky to get a private room on the top floor, so spacious and clean that it looked like a hotel room. We shared the bathroom with only one other room which was great. A bit of a train ride to the touristy stuff but great hipster neighborhood. Also a decent size kitchen to cook.

The location and the building are quite nice, however you quickly get the feeling that the hostel has lost its soul to became a cash machine... The day staff was answering my questions in a so apathic way that it was almost rude. Moreover they didn't seem very helpful as they denied me the use of their phone by a...

Although it did not have a good rating it turned out to be a really good place to meet other people and socialize. The kitchen wasn't that great and the neighbourhood is not precisely the best of Berlin (despite its delicious and cheap kebabs).

It is a good hostel for a good price in a very fun neighbourhood. Sanitary is fine, beds are fine, people working here are fine. The only downside is we had to switch chambers after 1 night. I heard there are more people who have to do that and also groups of friends are sometimes split up, but they didn't...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
