Highly reccomended. We've been staying there for 3 nights March 2014. The location is perfect with on walk distance or few metro stops to all main Berlin attractions. The hotel is clean, cozy and has modern feeling of interior. Staff attitude is great. Breakfast quite costy - 15 Eur/person (approx. 30% more expensive than nearby cafes), however great value for...

Amano is situated in a very nice neighbourhood with plenty of trendy and cosy bars, good restaurants of all price ranges, offering a wide variety of the delicious multinational kitchens. Excellent accessibility via Metro and Bus. (trip to Tegel Airport is 30 min with Public Transport for only €2,5 pp). Rooms are not too spacious, but offer all comfort and...

If you are a non-smoker, I highly advise you NOT to stay in this hotel. God knows why in this day and age but smoking is permitted in the ground floor bar. The odour permeates the building and when you exit your room in the morning (mine was on the 3rd floor) you are greeted with the previous nights cigarette...

Stayed three nights in March, on I think my fourth return visit. A cool hotel which has maintained its decoration and standards. Good location just off the Hackesche Markt (S bahn) and close to Rosenthaler Platz U bahn. A taxi ride from Tegel is about €23. Standard rooms are small.. perhaps too small for a couple staying more than a...

the hotel has a great location, with many cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. which is a good thing, because the hotel breakfast is so expensive that you do need to get out to eat. the rooms are impeccably clean, the beds very comfortable. feels like a luxury hotel but for the price of a budget hotel. only complaint is...

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I have to say that I simply love this place, amazing designs, great atmosphere as you enter the hotel, very chick yet very comfortable too. They have a lobby bar as well as a bar on the side where it gets more up beat in the evening. The rooms have great space and...

After our previous accommodation in Berlin was cancelled on us at the last minute before our trip we contacted Hotel AMANO where we were able to get a room booked for the duration of our stay. The staff, prior to arrival, were really helpful and responsive which made the process of re-booking a place to stay very easy. On arrival...

My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Amano for 3 nights since it was recommended by a friend who previously stayed there. We booked a medium size apartment for a very reasonable price considering European can be expensive at times. The room was comfortable and decent size – I guess the kitchenette qualifies it as an apartment. We loved...

Stayed at the Amano in December 2013. The hotel is in an excellent location, 5 minutes from Alexanderplatz. Very clean modern rooms. Great choice for breakfast. Would stay again as very reasonably priced.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
