Opened in 2008 and freshly renovated in 2020, The Circus Hotel is a boutique, design-orientated hotel in Berlin-Mitte, housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century landmark-protected building overlooking Rosenthaler Platz. Close to all the main attractions of the city and in a lively neighbourhood of bars, restaurants, art galleries and independent shops, we’re here to help you experience all that Berlin has to offer. Join us for our weekly curated programme of events and activities, relax in our garden courtyard or take in the spectacular views from our roof terrace. On the ground floor of The Circus Hotel you’ll find our lounge, library and garden courtyard, a place to linger over breakfast or grab a bite to eat before heading out into the city. Warm breakfast is served from 08:00 – 11:00, including homemade granola, eggs how you like them, vegan scramble and breakfast burritos, to name a few of the options. We’ve also thought carefully about our drinks, with coffee from Vote Roasters and teas from Paper and Tea, and why not try our Cruffin – a mix of croissant and muffin that is sure to become a breakfast classic. The Circus hotel is eco-friendly, equipped with solar panels and a Sustainable Cooling System, sustainability is at the heart of our preoccupation.

Loved this hotel. The staff were all really helpful and knowledgeable. My room was lovely and had a great view of the street below.
They put on a special breakfast for the marathon runners on the Sunday which was really helpful.
The hotel also ran free tours to one of the museums which was amazing. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is a chic and modern design hotel, right next to the underground station at the EAST part of Berlin. The Circus brand has a hostel and a hotel which just sit right opposite to each other at the same street. Not close to Berlin Center, however, as both underground and tram stations are just so close to the hotel/hostel, if you don’t mind to use public transportation, you will love with this hotel. Walking to main sight seeing spots are doable too, but in average it will take you 15-45 mins depends on the location. For example from this hotel to Brandenburg Gate area, you need to walk about 40 mins.

The hotel area is surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants - Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian and local.

The room size of “hotel” (no comment on hostel as we didn’t stay there) is good. It is a very modern and trendy design fit for young people. The room lighting is dim by design, to give a cosy vibe.

Staff is helpful and responsive. This hotel has a brewer shop to sell craft beer.

From Berlin Tegel airport to this hotel, it will take about 45 mins by 128 bus, then change underground U8 line. More details you can get from this hotel’s webpage.

We stayed 5 nights at the Circus Hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. We had a small room on the 4th floor and we loved its design — great lighting and comfortable bed. At first, we were concerned about street noises since our room was on the street side. However, it was not an issue when our windows were closed. Also, the weather was unusually cool during our stay. In hot weather, our small, well appointed room may not have been as enjoyable without a good air conditioning system that the hotel is lacking.

We arrived by car at the hotel and decided to park it at the garage which is about 4-5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel only charges 15 euros/day. We walked a lot and also used all public transportations offered in Berlin (metro, tram and bus).

For breakfast, we used 3 different formulas and we enjoyed each:
1. Breakfast at the hotel — variety of offerings and table service.

2. Buffet (all you can eat) across the street at the Circus Hostel. This is a great deal for 6 euros

3. Grocery store on Torstrasse that serves delicious breads, croissants, fruits and sandwiches at very reasonable prices. They have sitting outside as well as inside the store. This turned out to be our favorite spot for breakfast

Finally, we loved the location of the hotel with easy access to different parts of the city and great restaurants right in the neighborhood. MountRaw, Salamat and Chelany were some of our favorites.

I stayed for one night at The Circus Hotel as part of a giveaway by Staycation Vacation. As I live in Berlin I have never stayed in a hotel in the city before, and it was the most wonderful, relaxing break.
Katrin and her amazing colleagues were so attentive and kind, really making my partner and I feel like we were on a real getaway.
The whole hotel is BEAUTIFUL. Each detail is carefully selected, the snacks and drinks in the room are extremely tasty and local, and there are carefully curated books everywhere.
Our room had a balcony that overlooked the city and despite being on one of the busiest squares in Berlin was EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET.
Nico on the bar made the most delicious cocktails and allowed us to play our own music using the record player in the lounge.
In the morning the breakfast was outstanding! We ate in the sunshine in The Circus Hotel's cosy garden. We really did not want to leave.
We will be back for sure and I will be recommended any visitors I have to Berlin to stay here!

There are enough superlative words to describe the excellent facilities, service and attentive staff at the Circus Hotel, Berlin.

The Circus cater for 3 different type of visitors: young person hostel, very comfortable hotel and also apartments. I shared a twin room with a friend and it was beautifully furnished with such attention to detail. The toiletries, teas maid and eco environment so thoughtful and beautifully done.

The hotel caters with a very substantial breakfast (scrambled eggs cooked to perfection) or you can visit the Circus Cafe and coffee shops a stone’s throw away. They definitely fuel you up for a day of sight seeing.

If you are a foodie there are so many different types of cuisine - very high quality very reasonably priced for the standard of culinary experience. The staff incredibly helpful in recommendation and reservations.

If you are planning a trip to Berlin, the Circus team will make your visit exceptional. In my opinion, the only place to stay in central Berlin. The staff si helpful with their itinerary planning, before arrival and during our time of stay. The unique walks are so engaging and very well thought through.

I will be returning to Berlin and imo the only place to stay for its location, service and packaged experience.

Congratulations Circus Hotel team I very much look forward to my return visit.

We really enjoyed our stay here, one of the best boutique hotels we’ve stayed in recently. The interior design captures a mood and it feels intimate and personal. We booked a medium plus room which was definitely a good move – plenty of space, bluetooth speaker, courtyard facing and (I presume not just our room) a very comfortable night’s sleep. However, it’s the smaller attention to detail that clinches the quality of the hotel and design – the room lights (reading, side, main etc) are all clearly labelled and easy to use.

Breakfast was a cooked or cold/pastry option and sociable hours. The cocktail bar in the evening was a relaxing place to hang out – quite buzzy for a small bar without being loud at the weekend.
Staff members we met were all exceptional in terms of their friendliness and helpfulness. Service all round was very good.

The only real tip I’d give anyone is to bring your own milk if you don’t want a black coffee in your room when you wake up. The tea and coffee options in the room are in keeping with the quality of produce throughout but don’t include any version of milk at all. The breakfast and bar appear to be run by a third party and they don’t serve the rooms with catering.

Coupled with the vibe and the service, the location of this hotel really caps it all off well. Rosenthaler Platz has plenty of places to eat and drink within a short distance and is really well connected transport wise so you’re only a short journey from the rest of the centre of Berlin.

We stayed in a small room, which was perfect for us. (Two people, close friends, we shared the double bed)
The style and decor of the entire hotel is stunning, everything is very clean, and the staff is always very friendly and ready to help you with all kinds issues.
There also is a rooftop terrace which is a good spot to watch the sunset over the city.
Also the location is excellent. You can reach every point of the city very easily and fast through public transport since the next Tram and U-Bahn station are right outside the front door.
There is also a program which the Hotel offers, including the "Behind the curtain program". We went on the tour that was offered the day we arrived (a walk through the neighborhood through the eyes of the author Isherwood) and it was absolutely amazing, the best tour I've ever been on.
Overall, the next time i go to Berlin I will definitly choose the Circus again, even though I might try the Hostel this time, since I'm on a budget.

So glad we picked this hotel for a two night stay in Berlin. It was perfect for our needs in terms of getting around Berlin easily. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the nearest S Bahn station (Hackescher Markt) and we were easily able to use the S Bahn to travel to a few different sights and to/from the airport during our stay. (Huge thanks to Marina in the hotel reception who was really helpful around which lines to use to travel around). The hotel is also within easy walking distance (10 minutes) from Museum Island and sightseeing boat trips on the River Spree. We also did a three hour walking tour and again, the meeting point for this was only a short walk away.

The hotel itself is relaxed and comfortable. We loved the atmosphere and the decor! We were able to get a quiet drink in the bar both evenings before heading out to dinner and had booked restaurants no more than five minutes walk away so there is plenty of choice in terms of restaurants, coffee shops and bars nearby. We ate breakfast in the hotel one morning which was great, service was speedy and there was a good selection of options. This area of Mitte is busy and noisy so we had booked one room (we had three rooms altogether for a group of six) which was described as quiet and at the back overlooking the courtyard. I heard absolutely nothing and had two great nights’ sleep so I would recommend booking one of these as the rooms overlooking the street can be very noisy.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel in terms of location, service and comfort!

Lovely quirky hotel with a nice vibe. Our twin room was lovely - overlooking the road but we didn’t find it noisy and we like to people watch. We didn’t have breakfast here as there are so many places nearby but we did have drinks in the bar one night. It was very busy but had a nice atmosphere. The hotel is right next to a station and was so easy to get here by train from the airport and only a 10 minute taxi ride to the Mercedes Benz Stadium. Really good location to explore Berlin.

Great hotel and experience. The location was wonderful, we had a lovely room overlooking the hotel courtyard, there is a nice bar in the hotel, and the staff was incredible. Most of the staff spoke amazing English (one of the staff members was from St. Louis) and they catered to our every need. We stated one morning that our hotel room was hot and they immediately delivered a fan to our room. I would highly recommend this hotel.
